Responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end development of Scala-based applications and services, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Design and implement concurrent and distributed components using Akka, including actors, routing, supervision, and fault-tolerance patterns.

Build and enhance web services and APIs using Play Framework, following clean architecture and modular design principles.

Own build, dependency, and release management using SBT optimize build pipelines and enforce consistent project structure.

Drive code quality through reviews, refactoring, and establishing engineering standards, patterns, and reusable components.

Collaborate with product and technical stakeholders to refine requirements, estimate work, and deliver predictable outcomes.

Mentor team members, provide technical guidance, and support troubleshooting of complex production issues.

Additional Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

5-9 years of overall experience with strong hands-on expertise in Scala development.

Proficiency in building scalable applications using Scala Programming as a primary language.

Experience with Akka for concurrency/distributed processing and Play Framework for building services.

Strong experience using SBT (Scala Build Tool) for builds, dependency management, and packaging.

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering/Computer Science or related discipline (BTech/BE/BSc) or Master's degree (MTech/MCA/MSc) is acceptable. Preferred Qualifications:

Proven experience leading technical delivery, including task breakdown, estimation, and guiding teams through implementation decisions.

Strong understanding of reactive and asynchronous programming concepts and applying them effectively in Akka-based systems.

Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and service-layer patterns in Play Framework.

Ability to improve developer productivity through SBT optimization, build standardization, and dependency/version governance.

Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, influence best practices, and drive continuous improvement across the codebase. Good to have skills: Microservices architecture, REST API design, Distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, Docker
