Primary skills:Technology->Functional Programming->Scala

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and components using Scala aligned to business and technical requirements.
Build concurrent and resilient systems leveraging Akka (actors, routing, fault tolerance) and apply best practices for scalability and performance.
Develop and enhance APIs and web services using the Play Framework, ensuring secure and reliable integrations.
Manage builds, dependencies, and packaging using SBT; maintain consistent project structure and build hygiene.
Write clean, testable code; create unit and integration tests and participate in peer code reviews to uphold quality standards.
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive fixes with proper documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to estimate work, plan deliverables, and support timely releases.
Contribute to continuous improvement by refining coding standards, improving performance, and supporting automation in delivery pipelines. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's/Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering/Computer Science/IT (e.g., BTech, BE, MCA, MSc, MTech).
3–5 years of hands-on experience in backend development with strong proficiency in Scala.
Practical experience with Akka, Play Framework, and SBT in real-world projects.
Solid understanding of object-oriented and functional programming concepts, concurrency, and performance considerations.
Experience with debugging, code reviews, and writing automated tests to ensure maintainable, reliable software. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing and building distributed systems and microservice-style architectures using Scala-based ecosystems.
Strong exposure to API design patterns, authentication/authorization concepts, and integration best practices.
Familiarity with reactive programming principles and building fault-tolerant, event-driven services.
Experience improving build and release workflows (dependency management, versioning, packaging) and supporting CI/CD practices.
Demonstrated ability to mentor peers, communicate technical trade-offs clearly, and drive improvements in code quality and performance. Good to have skills: Microservices, REST API Design, Reactive Programming, CI/CD, Docker
