Job Description

GalaxEye is an Indian space tech startup pioneering multi-sensor imaging satellites. The company is developing the Drishti Mission the world's first satellite with advanced multi-sensor capabilities delivering all-time, all-weather imagery, including nighttime and challenging environmental conditions. Headquartered in India and incubated at IIT Madras, GalaxEye focuses on enabling advanced geospatial analytics for governments, defense, and global industries.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru for a Satellite Image Processing Engineer. The engineer will primarily work on SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) and EO (Electro-Optical) satellite imagery, designing and implementing advanced image processing and AI-driven algorithms tailored to these data types. The role involves satellite data processing, research and development to enhance image quality, applying signal processing techniques, and optimizing processing workflows in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement image processing and AI-based algorithms for SAR and EO satellite data
  • Develop and optimize processing techniques specifically for SAR and EO imagery
  • Apply signal processing methods to enhance image quality and extract meaningful features
  • Build, evaluate, and improve AI models for satellite image analytics
  • Optimize end-to-end processing pipelines for performance and scalability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (satellite systems, analytics, AI/ML) to solve real-world geospatial challenges

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with SAR and EO image processing
  • Solid understanding of signal processing fundamentals
  • Experience implementing machine learning (ML) algorithms and approaches
  • Understanding of remote sensing and geospatial data fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with deep learning techniques for SAR and EO satellite imagery
  • Hands-on experience applying AI for geospatial image analytics
  • Familiarity with satellite systems and multi-sensor imaging architectures
