Job Description

About Us:

Omnipresent Robot Technologies is a leading Indian company in robotics, drones, and space technology, with over 14 years of experience in developing smart unmanned systems. Backed by a strong R&D team with expertise in AI, electronics, robotics, and space engineering, the company was founded by alumni of UC Berkeley and Carnegie Mellon University. Its solutions have been used in agriculture, surveillance, industrial inspection, mapping, and increasingly in AI-driven automation and space systems. A major highlight is its contribution to ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 mission, where Omnipresent provided vision-based autonomy software for the Pragyaan rover, enabling it to navigate and build 3D maps of the Moon's surface with limited sensorsplaying a crucial role in the mission's success.

Omnipresent has also been recognized with the ADITI Award from the Indian Army for developing a SAR-based sensor and delivering high-resolution elevation maps for defense and also awarded IDEX DISC Award to build AI-powered onboard change detection module using multi-sensor imagery. Today, Omnipresent continues to build cutting-edge solutions in AI, robotics, and space tech, serving both national and global needs while leading India's deep-tech innovation ecosystem.

Role Overview

The Satellite Avionics Engineer Control Systems will be responsible for the control systems for guidance and navigation for the satellite including design and integration of satellite orbit control systems, and control of satellite systems throughout their lifecycle. This role ensures satellite health, mission continuity, and safe execution of orbital and payload operations, working closely with mission operations, ground systems, and engineering teams.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate attitude and orbit control system (AOCS) algorithms to maintain satellite stability, pointing accuracy, and maneuverability.
  • Develop control laws for reaction wheels, control moment gyros, magnetorquers, and thrusters.
  • Model satellite dynamics and actuator behavior for control system design and analysis.
  • Integrate control algorithms with onboard avionics and real-time flight software.
  • Perform stability analysis, tuning, fault tolerant control design and performance optimization across mission phases.
  • Conduct simulations, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and closed-loop testing to validate control performance.
  • Support in-orbit operations, anomaly analysis, and control system reconfiguration.
  • Ensure compliance with mission requirements, safety, reliability, and space-qualification standards.
  • Model and simulate satellite dynamics using tools like MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Integrate sensors and actuators (gyros, star trackers, reaction wheels, thrusters).
  • Participate in mission planning, orbit maintenance, and station-keeping strategies.
  • Analyze telemetry data to assess in-orbit performance and diagnose anomalies.
  • Collaborate with mission operations teams for end-to-end delivery.
  • Support environmental testing (thermal vacuum, vibration, EMI/EMC) and qualification campaigns of the designed and integrated projects.
  • Develop and maintain schematics, PCB designs, and interface control documents (ICDs).
  • Ensure compliance with space-grade standards, mission requirements, and reliability expectations.
  • Support launch preparation and on-orbit commissioning activities as required.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, space avionics or MTech in Physics, Optical Engineering, Power electronics, Aerodynamics & Flight Mechanism, Thermal and Propulsion or related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of satellite avionics architecture and subsystems.
  • Experience with space-grade electronics, embedded systems, and real-time constraints.
  • Experience with power electronics, and signal integrity.
  • Familiarity with environmental and qualification testing for space hardware

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and deep space technology and robotics
  • Exposure to a startup culture with a focus on innovation and creativity.
