SAS Monitoring Code Compliance Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled SAS Monitoring, Workflow & Code Compliance Engineer with deep expertise in SAS Viya, Enterprise Session Monitor (ESM), SAS Environment Manager, and SAS Workflow Orchestrator/Manager. This role is focused on automating SAS environment monitoring, orchestrating workflows, and enforcing code compliance and standards across the development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for integrating monitoring tools and implementing code review processes through SonarQube or custom scripts to ensure adherence to coding best practices (e.g., explicit SQL pass-through to Snowflake, macros, include statements, nested jobs).

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and automate SAS Workflow Orchestrator/Manager to streamline job scheduling and execution
• Implement Enterprise Session Monitor (ESM) and SAS Environment Manager for automated monitoring, alerting, and performance analysis
• Develop, document, and enforce SAS coding standards for quality, security, and efficiency
• Integrate SonarQube or custom tools for code reviews and enforce compliance checks
• Automate alerts and health checks for job failures, performance bottlenecks, and resource usage
• Manage job dependencies, scheduling logic, and workflow orchestration within SAS Workflow Orchestrator/Manager
• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to align monitoring and workflow automation with CI/CD pipelines
• Support performance tuning, incident troubleshooting, and resource capacity planning

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with SAS Viya and SAS 9.4 environments
• Strong hands-on knowledge of SAS Workflow Orchestrator/Manager, Enterprise Session Monitor (ESM), and SAS Environment Manager
• Proficiency in SAS programming, including macros, include statements, SQL pass-through, and nested job structures
• Experience integrating SonarQube or other tools for code quality and compliance enforcement
• Solid understanding of Snowflake architecture and SQL optimization strategies
• Strong scripting ability using Unix/Linux shell scripting
• Excellent skills in system monitoring, performance analysis, and troubleshooting

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab or Jenkins
• Knowledge of OAuth-based authentication and secure credential management practices
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes in SAS deployment contexts
• Scripting experience in Python or Groovy for automation
