Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced SAP Transportation Management (TM) Functional Consultant to design, configure, and support SAP TM solutions across transportation planning, execution, and freight settlement processes. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, solution architects, and technical teams to deliver scalable and efficient logistics solutions.
The ideal candidate should have strong functional expertise in SAP TM, a solid understanding of supply chain and transportation processes, and experience across full project lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to transportation planning, freight execution, carrier collaboration, and freight settlement.
- Design and configure SAP TM processes including:
- Freight Unit & Freight Order Management
- Transportation Planning & Optimization
- Tendering & Carrier Selection
- Charge Management & Freight Settlement
- Event Management / Shipment Visibility
- Conduct workshops, fit-gap analysis, and solution design sessions with stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and collaborate with technical teams for developments and integrations.
- Support integration with SAP and non-SAP systems including SAP S/4HANA, EWM, SD, MM, FI/CO, and external carrier systems.
- Configure master data such as transportation networks, charge profiles, carrier settings, and planning parameters.
- Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, and defect resolution.
- Develop documentation including SOPs, training materials, and user guides.
- Provide go-live and hypercare support, ensuring smooth transition to production.
- Ensure compliance, audit readiness, and alignment with financial processes.
- Drive continuous improvements in transportation cost, efficiency, and visibility.
Required Skills & Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in SAP TM as a Functional Consultant.
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- Freight Order lifecycle
- Transportation Planning (manual & optimizer-based)
- Tendering and Carrier Collaboration
- Charge Management & Freight Settlement
- Experience in at least one end-to-end SAP TM implementation.
- Good understanding of logistics, transportation, and supply chain processes.
- Experience with SAP TM integration with S/4HANA or ECC.
- Knowledge of interfaces such as IDoc, EDI, APIs, PI/PO, or CPI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with embedded TM in SAP S/4HANA.
- Knowledge of Fiori applications for SAP TM.
- Exposure to BRF+, PPF, and BOPF frameworks.
- Experience in multi-modal transportation (road, ocean, air).
- Familiarity with event management and logistics visibility solutions.
