About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP SD GTS Functional Consultant to join our team in a remote capacity. The ideal candidate will bring deep functional expertise in SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) combined with specialized knowledge of SAP Global Trade Services (GTS), supporting end-to-end order-to-cash processes alongside compliance-driven trade management functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support SAP SD module configuration, implementation, and enhancement activities across order management, pricing, billing, shipping, and credit management processes.
- Configure and support SAP GTS modules including Compliance Management (sanctioned party list screening, embargo checks, legal control), Customs Management, and Risk Management.
- Integrate SAP SD with SAP GTS to ensure seamless data flow for export/import compliance, customs declarations, and trade document generation.
- Gather business requirements from stakeholders and translate them into functional specifications and system configurations.
- Collaborate with technical teams (ABAP developers, Basis, integration teams) to design and implement custom solutions, interfaces, and enhancements.
- Perform feasibility studies, blueprint design, configuration, testing (unit, integration, UAT), and go-live support for SD and GTS workstreams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to SD order processing, billing, and GTS compliance checks, customs filings, and license determination.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, export control laws, and customs requirements across relevant markets.
- Conduct regular system audits, master data reviews, and process optimization for both SD and GTS landscapes.
- Prepare and maintain functional documentation, process flows, and training materials.
- Provide end-user training and support for SD and GTS functionalities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including logistics, finance, legal, and compliance departments.
- Stay current with SAP GTS regulatory updates, trade content changes, and SAP SD best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 10+ years of overall functional experience in SAP SD (Sales and Distribution), with strong expertise in order-to-cash cycle, pricing procedures, availability check, shipping and transportation, billing, and credit management.
- 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience in SAP GTS (Global Trade Services), covering Compliance Management, Customs Management, and/or Risk Management.
- Proven experience integrating SAP SD with SAP GTS, including plug-in configuration, data transfer, and feeder system synchronization.
- Strong understanding of global trade compliance requirements, export controls, denied party screening, and customs processes.
- Experience with at least 2-3 full lifecycle SAP implementations or major rollouts involving SD and GTS.
- Solid knowledge of SAP S/4HANA SD and GTS (experience on S/4HANA landscape preferred).
- Ability to write functional specifications and collaborate effectively with technical teams for custom developments, enhancements (BAdIs, user exits), and interfaces.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with globally distributed, remote teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP certification in SD and/or GTS.
- Experience with SAP GTS edition for HANA.
- Familiarity with logistics execution (LE), warehouse management (WM/EWM), and finance (FI) integration points.
- Prior experience in industries with complex trade compliance needs (manufacturing, automotive, life sciences, high-tech, or chemicals).
- Experience working in onshore-offshore delivery models.
