Position Overview

This senior, hands-on role is responsible for leading end-to-end data migration and conversion activities on SAP S/4HANA (system conversion) projects. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in SAP Migration Cockpit (LTMC/LTMOM), LSMW, and data migration tooling, combined with strong functional knowledge of FI, CO, P2P (MM/AP), and OTC (SD/AR) modules to ensure data integrity from legacy ECC environments into S/4HANA.

Key Responsibilities

Data Migration Strategy & Planning

• Define and own the end-to-end data migration strategy, approach, and plan aligned to SAP Activate phases (Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, Run).

• Lead data workstream planning including migration waves, mock run cycles, and final cutover execution.

• Develop and maintain the Data Migration Plan, RICEFW log, cutover checklist, and migration governance documentation.

• Coordinate with functional and technical teams to identify master data and transactional data scope across FI, CO, P2P, and OTC modules.

Migration Execution & Tooling

• Execute data migration using SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit (LTMC / LTMOM) as the primary tool; configure and extend migration objects using Migration Object Modeler.

• Develop and maintain LSMW recordings and batch input sessions for legacy data load scenarios not covered by standard migration objects.

• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) for master data objects: GL Accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, Vendors, Customers, Material Masters, and open items.

• Leverage BAPI, IDOC, and custom function modules where standard migration objects require extension or workarounds.

• Execute pre-load data cleansing, enrichment, and reconciliation using advanced Excel techniques (VLOOKUP, Power Query, pivot tables, macros).

Functional Module Coverage

• FI/CO: Migrate GL open items, customer/vendor open items, asset legacy data transfers (AS91), cost center and profit center master data, internal order balances, and intercompany postings.

• P2P (Procurement to Pay): Migrate vendor master, purchasing info records, open purchase orders, GR/IR clearing balances, and accounts payable open items.

• OTC (Order to Cash): Migrate customer master, sales orders, billing documents, credit management data, and accounts receivable open items.

• Understand and map source ECC table structures (BSEG, BKPF, EKKO, EKPO, VBAK, VBAP, KNA1, LFA1, SKA1, CSKS) to S/4HANA target objects.

Data Quality & Governance

• Conduct pre-migration data profiling and quality assessments; define and enforce data cleansing rules in collaboration with business owners.

• Perform pre-load and post-load validation and reconciliation; manage data dropouts and drive resolution with functional teams.

• Maintain audit-ready migration logs, sign-off trackers, and reconciliation reports for each migration object and load run.

• Support SIT and UAT for migrated data; triage and resolve data-related defects across priority levels.

Required Experience

Mandatory

• 8–12 years of total SAP experience, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on SAP data migration experience in S/4HANA or ECC conversion projects.

• Proven expertise in SAP Migration Cockpit (LTMC / LTMOM): configuring migration projects, executing staging loads, resolving errors, and extending objects via Migration Object Modeler.

• Hands-on proficiency with LSMW for recording, replaying, and managing batch input-based legacy data loads.

• Strong functional understanding of FI (GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting), CO (CCA, PCA, IO), MM/P2P, and SD/OTC modules and their underlying data structures.

• Deep knowledge of SAP table structures, data dictionaries, and function modules relevant to financial and logistics data objects.

• Advanced Excel skills: data cleansing, transformation, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, pivot tables, and macro-based automation for migration templates.

• At least 2 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA (system conversion) implementations with direct, hands-on data migration execution responsibility.

• Experience with cutover planning, mock runs, Go/No-Go criteria, and hypercare data support.

Preferred

• Experience with SAP BODS (Business Objects Data Services) or Syniti for complex ETL transformations.

• Knowledge of SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) and data governance frameworks.

• Exposure to SAP Readiness Check, Simplification Item analysis, and pre-conversion preparation activities.

• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA Universal Journal (ACDOCA) and impact on FI/CO data migration objects.

• SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit or SAP Activate certification is advantageous.

Education & Certifications

Education

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline preferred.

SAP Certification

SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, SAP Activate Foundation, or SAP S/4HANA Finance Certification is a strong plus.

8–12 years total SAP experience; minimum 5 years in hands-on data migration / conversion roles on S/4HANA projects.
