Job Description

Global Enterprise Partners is currently looking for a Business Project Manager to support our client's global S/4Hana roll out in India. This position is based in Hyderabad, India and is hybrid working onsite about 3 days a week. Please see details below.

Core Accountabilities & Team Structure

  • Team Leadership: Manages a multi-functional team including full-time Functional Super Key Users (SKU) and part-time Business Key Users (KU).
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Acts as the primary interface between entity top management and central program leadership.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensures business requirements are integrated into both the technical solution and the change management strategy.

Project & Change Management

Working alongside the Wave IT Project Manager, the BA PM identifies risks, mitigates issues, and drives decision-making through governance bodies (e.g. SteerCo, OpCo).

The change management strategy focuses on:

  • Assessing change magnitude
  • Documenting To-Be processes with updated RACI models
  • Empowering business managers to lead their teams through transformation

Requirements & Skills

  • 7-10 years of SAP S/4HANA experience, ideally with global template rollouts
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments (mining industry preferred)
  • Based in Hyderabad (primary project location)
  • Ability to travel to industrial sites
  • Flexible working hours to coordinate with global teams across time zones
  • Fluent in English with a transformation-oriented mindset

Role Details

The Business Area Project Manager is responsible for leading all business activities related to the SAP rollout across multiple entities within a defined rollout wave. The role works closely with the Wave IT Project Manager to ensure delivery is achieved on time, within scope, and with minimal disruption to operations.

The BA PM is involved across all project phases, from initial assessment through post go-live support.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Define and maintain rollout plans (high-level and detailed)
  • Identify and mitigate risks
  • Manage issues and drive resolution
  • Ensure delivery quality and timelines
  • Coordinate cross-functional integration
  • Prepare governance reports
  • Manage team workload, communication, and performance

Change Management

  • Assess change impact across entities
  • Design and validate To-Be processes with updated RACI
  • Develop and maintain communication and change plans
  • Drive training, communication, and adoption activities
  • Enable business leaders to own and drive change within their teams

Data Migration

  • Ensure data migration activities are completed on time and with quality
  • Coordinate with IT and business stakeholders
  • Assign and manage data-focused key users

Phase-Specific Responsibilities

Assessment Phase

  • Schedule overview sessions and discovery workshops
  • Identify change requests and business needs
  • Assess reporting requirements
  • Define key user workload and resource needs
  • Develop project charter
  • Organize kickoff and closure meetings

Core Model Alignment & Design

  • Track alignment workshops
  • Finalize scope for local adaptations
  • Update change management plan

Build, Test & Training

  • Define training plans and timelines
  • Ensure alignment across functional streams
  • Lead user acceptance and adoption testing

Cutover & Training

  • Prepare and validate cutover plan
  • Define business constraints
  • Lead end-user training
  • Support cross-functional change activities

Support (Post Go-Live)

  • Set up hypercare support structure
  • Track business adoption and stabilization
  • Manage post-go-live action plans

Communication & Governance

The Business Area Project Manager:

  • Reports to the Business Area Sponsor and central program team
  • Works closely with the Wave IT Project Manager
  • Leads governance forums
  • Engages business stakeholders and leadership
  • Communicates updates and drives accountability across teams
