Assignment description
Ideal candidate will have a Release Manager background combined with the experience to manage multi-track/landscape environments for seamless deployments to PROD and proven skills with handling multiple tasks like schedule and governance.
JOB PURPOSE
In Release Manager position, you will be part of Sandvik's (Product Based Company) In-house IT team. This would include Release Management of S/4HANA Implementation across landscape, Review of release schedule for S/4HANA Implementations by vendors. Background of SAP Release planning with SAP S/4HANA is key requirement for the role with excellent skills. This role will involve working with several 3rd party service providers throughout programme lifecycle and post go-live with Business to schedule the SAP releases considering dependencies on various connected systems and middleware (Azure).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and establish best practices to manage SAP deployments in Sandvik.
Establish the available deployment windows for SAP Releases
Chair, co-ordinate and minute CAB Meetings and SAP Advisory board meetings
Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations.
Maintain a change management Repository and manage key information such as quality and release procedures.
Forward Plan the release windows and cycles across.
Manage risks and resolve issues that affect multiple releases across multiple programmes.
Responsible for ensuring compliance in process execution.
Report on key KPI's for SAP Change Management processes.
Record and manage deviations, risks, issues related to the defined change management processes.
Drive Continuous improvement to the process.
Continuous improvements on release process defined.
Co-ordination with connected systems owners, middleware (Azure) teams, testing dependencies to have the right schedule & Dependencies captured and resolved in time.
Report on key KPI's for SAP Change Management processes
Keep an auditable record of all requests and their outcomes.
Manage and mitigate release risks.
Managing a SAP release calendar with SAP & non-SAP dependencies
EXPERIENCE:
5+ years experience within a similar role
8+ years of experience in SAP Technology
Multinational environment experience
Proven track record in managing multiple internal key stakeholder relationships.
knowledge of software development life cycle and methodologies
Proven experience on large scale ERP programmes (Such as SAP S/4) ideally with multi-phase delivery and a complex footprint (i.e. regions /multi-site)
Proven release and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred)
Practical experience of a broad range of release techniques, methodologies and tools such as SAP Charm, Focus Build, Jira or MS DevOps, Jenkins, Docker.
Skill requirements
BE/BTECH or Equivalent IT degree.
