SAP Principal Solution Architect (AI & Innovation)

As the SAP Principal Solution Architect, you will be the strategic visionary leading the integration of Artificial Intelligence within the SAP landscape. You will bridge the gap between complex business challenges and cutting-edge technology, specifically focusing on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP AI Core. Your mission is to design scalable, high-impact AI solutions-such as generative AI assistants and automated intelligent workflows-that redefine how enterprises operate.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Architecture: Design end-to-end solution architectures that integrate SAP S/4HANA with AI services on SAP BTP.

AI Implementation: Lead the deployment of SAP Joule, AI Foundation services, and custom machine learning models using SAP AI Core and SAP AI Launchpad.

Pre-Sales & Value Engineering: Partner with executive stakeholders to develop business cases, drive technical discovery, and present high-value demos (e.g., Shop Floor Assistants or Intelligent Asset Management).

Innovation Roadmap: Define the AI & Innovation Studio strategy, identifying emerging trends in Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) relevant to industry verticals like Manufacturing and Dairy.

Governance & Ethics: Establish frameworks for AI ethics, data privacy, and model lifecycle management (MLOps) within the SAP ecosystem.

Mentorship: Lead a high-performing team of technical architects and developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning in cloud-native technologies.

Required Technical Skills

SAP Ecosystem: Deep expertise in SAP BTP (Extension Suite, Integration Suite) and SAP S/4HANA.

AI/ML Portfolio: Hands-on experience with SAP AI Core, SAP AI Launchpad, and Joule. Familiarity with Business Entity Recognition, Document Information Extraction, and Personalized Recommendation services.

Development: Proficiency in CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model), Node.js, or Python.

Integration: Advanced knowledge of connecting SAP AI services with non-SAP LLMs (like Azure OpenAI or Google Vertex AI) via SAP BTP.

Data Architecture: Strong understanding of SAP HANA Cloud and Vector Engine capabilities for RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) scenarios.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience: 12+ years in SAP Architecture, with at least 3+ years specifically focused on AI/ML or Advanced Analytics.

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Certification: SAP Certified Development Associate - SAP BTP or SAP Certified Citizen Developer Associate is highly preferred.

Industry Knowledge: Proven track record in manufacturing, supply chain, or complex service delivery environments.
