Role Summary
The SAP PP/PS Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting SAP Production Planning (PP) and Project System (PS) solutions to enable efficient manufacturing and project execution. The role works closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust SAP configurations, integrations, and best-practice processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end implementation, rollout, and support of SAP PP and PS modules (ECC or S/4HANA).
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for production planning, shop-floor execution, and project management.
- Design and configure SAP PP (BOM, routing, work centres, MRP, capacity planning, production orders) and SAP PS (WBS, networks, milestones, budgeting, settlements).
- Ensure seamless integration of PP/PS with MM, SD, FI/CO, QM, and other relevant modules.
- Prepare functional specifications for objects and collaborate with technical teams for development and testing.
- Perform unit, integration, and user acceptance testing; support cutover and go-live activities.
- Develop and maintain process and configuration documentation, training materials, and work instructions.
- Conduct end-user and key-user training and workshops.
- Recommend process improvements and leverage SAP best practices to optimize production and project performance.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, IT, or related field.
- 4-6 years of hands-on experience as an SAP PP and/or PS Functional Consultant, including at least 12 full life-cycle implementations.
- Strong configuration experience in core PP processes (MTS/MTO, MRP, production orders, capacity planning) and PS processes (project structuring, planning, budgeting, tracking, and settlement).
- Solid understanding of manufacturing and project management business processes.
- Experience working in ECC and/or S/4HANA environments is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in integration with MM, SD, FI/CO and familiarity with QM is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills; ability to translate business needs into system designs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional, global teams and business stakeholders.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- SAP certification in PP and/or PS.
- Exposure to project methodologies (Agile/Waterfall) and tools (Solution Manager, Jira, etc.).
- Experience in specific industries such as manufacturing, engineering & construction, utilities, or automotive.
- Basic understanding of ABAP debugging, IDocs, and interfaces is a plus.
