SAP MM MDG Consultant

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP MM MDG Consultant with strong expertise in Materials Management and Master Data Governance to support implementation, enhancement, and support activities across SAP ECC and S/4HANA landscapes. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to govern, standardize, and optimize Material and Vendor Master Data while ensuring seamless integration with procurement and finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

SAP MDG Responsibilities

Design, configure, and support SAP MDG for Material and Vendor Master Data.

Implement and manage MDG data models, governance workflows, BRF+ rules, and validations.

Define and maintain business rules, derivations, and validations for master data quality.

Coordinate with business users for data ownership, stewardship, approvals, and governance processes.

Support MDG data replication to downstream systems using DRF, IDOCs, or SOA services.

Handle data migration, cleansing, enrichment, and consolidation activities.

SAP MM Responsibilities

Configure and support SAP MM modules including:

Procurement (PR, PO, RFQ)

Inventory Management

Invoice Verification

Vendor & Material Master

Work closely with FI, SD, PP, WM/EWM, and ABAP teams for end‑to‑end integration.

Manage MM–FI integration (GR/IR, account determination, invoice postings).

Support end‑to‑end implementations, rollouts, enhancements, and production support.

Project & Support Activities

Analyze business requirements and prepare functional specifications and solution designs.

Participate in UAT, cutover planning, go‑live, and hypercare support.

Resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis, and provide production support.

Prepare functional documentation, configuration guides, SOPs, and user manuals.

Conduct user training, workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

8–10+ years of strong SAP MM functional experience.

Hands‑on experience with SAP MDG (Material & Vendor).

Strong knowledge of:

Master Data governance concepts

Procurement cycles and inventory processes

Pricing procedures and release strategies

Experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA MM & MDG.

Good understanding of:

BRF+

Data Replication Framework (DRF)

MM‑FI integration

Ability to interact with business users and translate requirements into scalable SAP solutions.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

SAP MM and/or SAP MDG Certification is an added advantage.
