SAP MM Consultant (M12)

Job Title: Consultant

Grade: M12

Reporting To: Delivery Manager

Location: Mumbai

Role Type: Individual Contributor

Experience Required: 6–10 Years

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP MM Consultant with 6–10 years of hands-on experience in SAP Materials Management (MM) to support Application Management Services (AMS), incident management, change management, enhancements, and project delivery activities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in SAP MM business processes, master data management, inventory management, purchasing, logistics invoice verification, interfaces, IDOCs, and integration with other SAP modules. Experience in master data migration (Material/Vendor), rollout projects, support engagements, and collaboration with third-party systems is essential.

Exposure to SAP WM and SAP S/4HANA environments will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

SAP MM Functional Support & Delivery

  • Manage and support end-to-end SAP MM business processes.
  • Participate in implementation, rollout, enhancement, and support projects.
  • Handle incident, service request, problem, and change management activities.
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues in accordance with agreed SLAs.

Purchasing & Procurement Processes

  • Configure and support:
  • Request for Quotation (RFQ)
  • Contracts
  • Scheduling Agreements
  • Purchase Requisitions (PR)
  • Purchase Orders (PO)
  • Service Purchase Orders
  • Stock Transfer Orders (STO)
  • Support release strategies and approval workflows.

Inventory Management & Logistics

  • Manage Inventory Management processes including:
  • Goods Receipt (GR)
  • Goods Issue (GI)
  • Stock Transfers
  • Physical Inventory
  • Inventory Adjustments
  • Inventory Write-Off and Write-Back Activities
  • Support month-end and year-end inventory closing activities.

Master Data Management

  • Maintain and govern:
  • Material Master
  • Vendor Master
  • Purchasing Info Records
  • Source Lists
  • Quota Arrangements
  • Support data migration activities using LSMW and related tools.
  • Execute Material and Vendor master data loads and validation activities.

Logistics Invoice Verification

  • Configure and support Logistics Invoice Verification (LIV).
  • Manage invoice matching, release procedures, and invoice-related processes.

Integration & Interfaces

  • Work closely with SAP FI/CO, SD, PP, and WM teams.
  • Support SAP integrations with third-party systems.
  • Troubleshoot interface and data exchange issues.
  • Manage IDOC processing and monitoring activities.

Development & Enhancements

  • Prepare Functional Specifications (FS) for custom developments.
  • Collaborate with ABAP teams on:
  • Reports
  • Interfaces
  • Enhancements
  • Forms
  • Workflows
  • Support User Exits, BAdIs, and enhancement implementations.
  • Perform basic debugging and analysis.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct:
  • Functional Testing
  • Integration Testing
  • Regression Testing
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Support upgrades, rollouts, and change deployments.

Reporting & Governance

  • Develop and support standard and custom SAP MM reports.
  • Participate in governance meetings and service reviews.
  • Maintain project documentation and operational reports.

Required Experience

  • 6–10 years of SAP MM consulting experience.
  • Minimum 1 full-cycle SAP implementation or rollout project.
  • Minimum 1 AMS/support engagement.
  • Strong experience in:

  • SAP WM (Warehouse Management) experience.
  • Experience in User Exits, BAdIs, and Enhancements.
  • Basic debugging skills and understanding of SAP backend tables.
  • Experience working in global delivery environments and offshore-onsite models.
  • Exposure to ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
  • Exposure to monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch, or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • SAP MM Certification (ECC or S/4HANA) preferred.
  • ITIL Certification preferred.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or SAFe certifications will be an added advantage.
