Job Title: Data Consultant
Role Overview
The Data Consultant is responsible for managing and supporting data preparation, migration, and validation activities required for the Mexico plant rollout. This role ensures that all relevant master and transactional data are accurately prepared, extended, validated, and loaded into the system to support business operations during testing, deployment, and go-live phases.
The consultant will collaborate with functional teams, IT teams, and business stakeholders to ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Master Data Preparation & Management
- Coordinate the preparation, cleansing, and validation of master data required for the Mexico plant rollout.
- Work with business teams to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of master data before migration.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
2. Material Master Data Extension
- Support the extension of existing material master data to the Mexico plant within the ERP system.
- Ensure all required views, plant-specific parameters, and configurations are maintained correctly.
- Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to verify material attributes and planning data.
3. Production Master Data Replication
- Assist with the replication and validation of production master data, including:
- Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Routings
- Work centers
- Production versions
- Ensure that all production data aligns with manufacturing and operational requirements.
4. Warehouse & Logistics Data Setup
- Support the creation and configuration of warehouse master data, including:
- Storage locations
- Storage bins
- Warehouse structures
- Coordinate with logistics teams to validate inventory management and warehouse processes.
5. Data Migration & Loading
- Prepare data files and templates required for data migration activities.
- Execute data loads using approved tools or migration frameworks.
- Perform data reconciliation and validation checks post-load to ensure data integrity.
6. Testing Support
- Support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and pre-go-live testing cycles.
- Assist functional teams in validating migrated data and identifying potential issues.
- Document and track data-related defects and resolutions.
7. Data Issue Resolution
- Analyze and resolve data-related issues identified during testing and go-live preparation.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
- Ensure timely resolution to minimize impact on project timelines.
8. Documentation & Governance
- Maintain documentation for data migration processes, templates, and validation results.
- Ensure compliance with data governance standards and best practices.
- Provide periodic updates on data readiness and migration progress to project stakeholders.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of data migration and master data management processes.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Experience with data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with large datasets and data templates.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or related field.
- 25 years of experience in data migration, ERP implementation, or master data management.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, or plant rollout projects.
- Familiarity with SAP modules such as MM, PP, or WM/EWM is an advantage.
