SAP Master Data Governance & Transformation

Job Description

To drive SAP Master Data Governance, data quality, process standardization, master data transformation initiatives, governance tool implementation, capability building, and continuous improvement across enterprise master data processes. The role will work as a bridge between Business, IT, SAP functional teams, governance teams, and third-party support partners to ensure master data is accurate, compliant, traceable, business-ready, and aligned with SAP S/4HANA transformation needs.

Key Responsibilities

Master Data Governance & MDM Tool Deployment

.Lead implementation and deployment of Master Data Governance solutions.

.Define business requirements and participate in vendor evaluation and tool selection.

.Prepare BRD, process blueprints, governance workflows, and business rule documentation.

.Coordinate UAT, training, deployment, post-go-live stabilization, and policy rollout.

.Monitor governance KPIs and recommend process improvements.

Data Migration & SAP S/4HANA Transformation

.Support SAP implementation, data migration, merger, and rollout projects.

.Define master data migration scope, loading strategy, and sequential loading plans.

.Coordinate with business users for data preparation, validation, readiness, and sign-off.

.Perform RCA and resolve MDM issues during mock loads, cutover, and stabilization cycles.

.Track data readiness through dashboards and management review formats.

Data Quality, Governance Compliance & Controls

.Drive organization-wide master data quality initiatives and governance compliance.

.Create validation controls, rule sheets, monitoring mechanisms, and quality checksheets.

.Ensure adherence to master data policies, SOPs, workflows, audit requirements, and controls.

.Track critical data issues, coordinate corrective actions, and monitor closure.

Process Improvement & Automation

.Identify automation opportunities in ticket assignment, ticket monitoring, approval workflows, and quality checks.

.Drive process improvement initiatives focused on SLA improvement, productivity, control, and data quality.

.Coordinate with IT, GRC, CM, and business teams for deployment of improvements and automation use cases.

.Monitor adoption, benefits realization, and user feedback.

Audit, Escalation Management & RCA

.Lead ticket audits and compliance checks for master data requests.

.Maintain escalation, critical ticket, and RCA repositories.

.Identify recurring issues, control gaps, and improvement themes.

.Recommend CAPA and track implementation through review forums.

Training & Capability Building

.Plan and conduct company-wide SAP Master Data training and focused process training.

.Prepare SOPs, user manuals, KT documents, process notes, and training material.

.Conduct weekly knowledge-sharing sessions and maintain training records in the central repository.

.Build capability among business users, third-party users, and internal MDM team members.

Stakeholder Management & Department Governance

.Coordinate with SAP functional teams, business process owners, Digital/IT, GRC, consultants, and support partners.

.Facilitate requirement discussions, UAT meetings, governance reviews, and management updates.

.Maintain weekly department performance sheets, PAT inputs, dashboards, and management review material.

.Support budget tracking, third-party roster approvals, billing validation, and departmental control activities as assigned.
