SAP IS-U Technical Consultant

We are seeking an experienced SAP IS-U Technical Consultant to provide expert technical support for our SAP IS-U (Industry-Specific Utilities) modules. In this role, you will be responsible for custom development, integration, and technical support to ensure the smooth and effective operation of our utilities-specific processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of SAP IS-U technical components and be highly proficient in ABAP development.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Custom Development & Solutions: Develop and implement custom enhancements using ABAP for critical business processes like billing, metering, and customer service. You will create user exits, BADIs, enhancements, and custom reports to meet project requirements.
• Technical Design: Collaborate with functional teams to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications. You will design and build custom interfaces to integrate SAP IS-U with third-party systems and applications.
• Module Support: Provide technical support for key SAP IS-U modules, including Billing, FICA (Financial Contract Accounting), and Device Management. You will work on custom solutions for bill print, invoice formatting, and other related processes.
• Data & Performance: Lead data migration activities for master and transactional data using tools like LSMW or custom ABAP programs. You will also analyze and optimize the performance of SAP IS-U programs and reports, performing SQL tuning and ABAP optimization.
• Integration & Troubleshooting: Develop and maintain interfaces using IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, and Web Services to ensure seamless data flow. You will provide support for complex technical issues, performing ABAP debugging and root cause analysis.
• Upgrades & Testing: Participate in SAP IS-U upgrades, including testing and validation of custom objects and programs. You will lead unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of SAP IS-U technical components, including Billing, FICA, Device Management, and Customer Service.
• Strong proficiency in ABAP and ABAP for IS-U for custom solutions, reports, enhancements, and interfaces.
• Experience with data migration and conversion tools like LSMW and BDC.
• In-depth understanding of IS-U data structures and table relationships.
• Knowledge of interfaces, including IDoc, BAPI, RFC, and Web Services.
• Strong skills in SQL tuning, performance optimization, and database indexing.
• Familiarity with SAP NetWeaver, WebDynpro, UI5, and Fiori applications is a plus.
