Consultant, SAP HCM – PA / Payroll / Time Management

Location: Kochi

Experience: 5+ Years

Primary Skills: SAP HCM, Payroll, Time Management

Salary: ₹18–20 LPA

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SAP HCM Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in Personnel Administration (PA), SAP Payroll, and Time Management.

The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of end-to-end SAP HCM processes, strong experience in Indian Payroll, and the ability to independently handle configuration, implementation, testing, support, and troubleshooting activities.

What You Can Expect From the Job

  • Lead the design and configuration of HR master data structures, including Personnel Areas, Personnel Subareas, Employee Groups, Employee Subgroups, Pay Scale, and organisational assignments.
  • Configure Infotypes across the employee lifecycle, including hiring, transfers, promotions, separations, and rehires.
  • Configure Personnel Actions and Dynamic Actions.
  • Configure enterprise and HR organisational structures and integrate PA with Organisational Management (OM).
  • Support position management, reporting structures, and vacancy management.
  • Configure HR data security, including authorisation profiles and structural authorisations for sensitive employee data.
  • Design and configure end-to-end SAP Payroll processes, including schemas, PCRs, wage types, and payroll cycle management.
  • Implement and support Indian statutory payroll requirements, including PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Income Tax/TDS, Gratuity, Labour Welfare Fund, and Bonus-related requirements.
  • Manage off-cycle and retroactive payroll runs.
  • Configure Bank Transfer / DME processes.
  • Integrate SAP Payroll with FI/CO, including symbolic accounts, posting documents, and reconciliation.
  • Troubleshoot payroll errors, schema issues, wage type issues, and payroll processing problems.
  • Configure SAP Time Management, including work schedules, holiday calendars, absence and attendance types, counting rules, and quota generation.
  • Configure and support Time Evaluation, including schemas such as TM00/TM04.
  • Work with positive and negative time recording scenarios.
  • Implement and support CATS for project-based time recording.
  • Lead requirements-gathering workshops and blueprint sessions.
  • Prepare functional design specifications, configuration workbooks, test scripts, and training materials.
  • Support UAT, cutover, go-live, and hypercare activities.
  • Manage assigned HCM workstreams and mentor junior SAP HCM consultants.

Must-Have Skills

  • 5+ years of SAP HCM functional experience.
  • Experience in at least 2 full-cycle implementations or major rollout projects.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in SAP HCM PA, Payroll, and Time Management.

  • Strong hands-on experience in SAP Time Management.

  • Experience with ESS/MSS portals.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration.
  • Experience with payslip design/configuration using SmartForms or SAP Adobe Forms.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central.
  • Experience with SuccessFactors Employee Central – SAP Payroll / EC Payroll integration.
  • Knowledge of HCM for S/4HANA.
  • Exposure to Fiori-based HR processes and HCM processes on S/4HANA.
  • Experience with international payroll, particularly:
  • UAE
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Bahrain
  • African payroll
  • Basic ABAP reading/debugging skills.
  • Ability to trace and understand payroll schemas and PCRs independently.
