We are seeking a proactive SAP Group Reporting Specialist to support the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of our financial consolidation processes within the SAP S/4HANA environment. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders, process owners, and technical teams under the guidance of senior professionals. Your responsibilities will include assisting in system configuration, gathering and documenting requirements, and providing support for end-user queries. A solid understanding of SAP Group Reporting, financial consolidation concepts and accounting principles, will be essential in driving operational efficiency and continuous process improvement.

This role is contributing to the Finance Services business Finance Process Data Systems division in Bangalore, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Support in SAP Group Reporting Configuration: Assist in configuring and maintaining SAP Group Reporting modules to support both legal and management consolidation processes. Ensure configurations align with business requirements and established accounting standards.
  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Collaborate with finance teams (Accounting, Controlling, FP&A) to capture and document consolidation requirements. Translate business and accounting needs into clear functional documentation for system configurations.
  • System Integration Support: Work with technical teams to support the integration between SAP Group Reporting and other systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA CFIN, BW or third-party data sources). Assist in monitoring data flows and reconciliation processes to ensure data integrity.
  • User Support & Training Assistance: Provide first-level support to end-users by troubleshooting issues related to financial consolidation and reporting. Help prepare training materials and deliver sessions on best practices and system functionalities.
  • Testing & Validation: Participate in testing and validation activities for new configurations, enhancements, and patches. Support the validation process to ensure that changes meet both functional and regulatory requirements.
  • Process Documentation & Improvement: Maintain updated documentation of system configurations, process flows, consolidation rules, and integration points. Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to continuous enhancement initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure that system enhancements are aligned with overall finance transformation goals. Work under the guidance of senior architects to learn and grow within the consolidation domain.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, Relevant certifications in SAP S/4HANA Finance, SAP Group Reporting, or equivalent SAP modules are preferred, while HFM related certifications are an advantage.
  • Proven expertise in SAP Group Reporting is mandatory, including proficiency in mapping GL accounts from ACDOCA to ACDOCU, managing Consolidation Units, FS Items and their hierarchies, configuring eliminations and validation rules, and building reports with Group Data Analysis (GDA)
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience in financial consolidation processes, ideally within an SAP environment and Analysis for Office (AfO)., Familiarity with the broader SAP S/4HANA ecosystem or experience with comparable financial consolidation systems (e.g., SAP BPC, Oracle Hyperion) is highly advantageous.
  • Understanding of financial reporting requirements, accounting principles and regulatory standards, Ability to document and translate business and accounting requirements into functional system specifications.
  • Familiarity with data integration and financial master data management processes within a consolidation environment., Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive, learning-oriented attitude with the ability to work under guidance in a dynamic team environment.
  • A positive approach to innovation and continuous improvement in financial processes, Experience in supporting large-scale finance transformation projects is a plus, Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
