Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

SAP DRC (Document and Reporting Compliance)

  • Configure source document mapping (SD billing docs, FI invoices, MM documents) into eDocument creation processes.
  • Manage eDocument formats (XML, UBL, CII, Factur-X) and transmission to government/tax authority platforms.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot via eDocument Cockpit and Manage Electronic Documents apps resolve transmission failures and rejections.
  • Maintain business partner master data compliance identifiers (VAT ID, SIREN/SIRET, GSTIN, etc.) with correct validation and prioritization logic.

SD (Sales & Distribution)

  • Configure billing document types, output determination, and pricing procedures that impact downstream tax and DRC processing.
  • Ensure billing document data (customer master, condition records, pricing) is accurate and complete to support compliant invoice generation.
  • Troubleshoot billing block issues, incomplete billing documents, and output/eDocument trigger failures.

FI (Finance)

  • Configure and support FI invoice posting, accounting document types, and tax G/L account determination.
  • Ensure accurate mapping between accounting documents and eDocument creation triggers.
  • Support period-end/legal reporting activities, reconciliations, and postings related to statutory invoice reporting.
  • Collaborate on intercompany billing, credit/debit memo processing, and cross-company code transactions impacting tax and compliance reporting.

Tax

  • Good understanding of tax determination logic (condition-based or Tax Determination via external tax engines like Vertex, OneSource, SAP TDF) to ensure correct tax codes flow into SD/FI and downstream DRC reporting.
  • Support VAT/GST compliance, intra-community transactions, reverse charge scenarios, and jurisdiction-specific tax rules.
  • Analyze legal/tax mandate changes (e.g., new e-invoicing mandates, VAT rate changes, tax reporting formats) and assess system impact across SD, FI, and DRC.
  • Support tax audits by ensuring traceability of tax calculation, invoice data, and statutory reporting submissions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

DRC, SD-FI and Tax

  • Create and maintain functional specifications, configuration documentation, and process flow diagrams spanning all four modules.
  • Lead or support testing cycles (unit, integration, UAT) for configuration changes, DRC country rollouts, and tax/legal updates.
  • Monitor SAP Notes and legal change patches relevant to DRC, tax, and finance coordinate timely implementation.
  • Provide post-go-live support, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement across the SD-FI-Tax-DRC process chain.

Cross-Functional Integration

  • Design and maintain end-to-end process integration between SD billing, FI invoicing/accounting documents, Tax determination, and DRC eDocument creation.
  • Analyze and resolve issues where invoice data breaks across the SD → FI → Tax → DRC chain (e.g., incorrect tax codes causing eDocument rejections).

Partner with Tax, Finance, Sales Operations, and IT teams to translate statutory and business requirements into unified system configuration

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of SAP functional experience across SD, FI, and Tax, with 1+ years hands-on experience in SAP DRC (or SAP Document Compliance/ACR).
  • Strong understanding of order-to-cash and invoice-to-report process flows within SAP S/4HANA.
  • Experience configuring tax determination (native SAP condition logic or third-party tax engines).
  • Familiarity with eDocument frameworks, XML/UBL/CII formats, and country-specific e-invoicing/e-reporting mandates.
  • Experience with business partner master data configuration for tax/compliance identifiers.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across integrated modules (not siloed to one function).
  • Excellent communication skills able to explain cross-functional technical issues to Tax, Finance, and Sales stakeholders.
