SAP S/4 PPDS (ePPDS/APO) Senior Consultant / Manager/ Senior Manager

Experience: Minimum 6 years
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead SAP advisory and implementation engagements focused on Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PPDS) as part of manufacturing transformation programs.
- Drive end-to-end S/4HANA PPDS (embedded PPDS/ePPDS) implementations, including greenfield, brownfield, and rollout projects.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand planning and scheduling challenges, and translate them into scalable PPDS solutions.
- Conduct as-is / to-be assessments, perform fit-gap analysis, and design optimized planning and scheduling processes.
- Configure and implement key PPDS functionalities such as:
- Product Heuristics
- Detailed Scheduling Planning Board
- Resource Planning & Capacity Leveling
- Setup Matrix & Sequence Optimization
- PPDS Alerts & Exception Handling
- Design and optimize finite scheduling strategies to improve production efficiency and throughput.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with modules like PP, QM, EWM, SD, and FI-CO.
- Lead workshops, prepare functional specifications, and guide development for enhancements, reports, and interfaces.
- Support testing cycles (UT, SIT, UAT), cutover planning, and hypercare activities.
- Mentor junior consultants and manage small teams where required.
Job Requirements
- Strong consulting mindset with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- 6+ years of SAP experience, with significant exposure to:
- SAP PPDS (Embedded PPDS/ePPDS in S/4HANA)
- SAP APO PPDS (preferred / legacy experience)
- Proven experience in end-to-end S/4HANA implementation projects, specifically in planning and scheduling.
- Deep understanding of:
- Detailed Scheduling (DS Board)
- Heuristics and Optimizer concepts
- Capacity Planning & Constraint-based scheduling
- Hands-on experience in:
- Configuration of PPDS master data (PPM/PDS)
- CIF integration (for APO background) or S/4 embedded integration
- Exposure to enhancements, BAdIs, and interfaces between SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Familiarity with S/4HANA innovations in manufacturing and planning.
- Working knowledge of integration with:
- EWM, TM, QM, SD, FI/CO
- Experience in Agile/Activate methodology is preferred.
Good to Have (Not Core Focus)
- Exposure to SAP APO modules like SNP or DP
- Experience in IBP (Integrated Business Planning)
- Knowledge of advanced planning strategies and supply chain optimization
Domain Knowledge
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, especially:
- Make-to-Stock / Make-to-Order / Engineer-to-Order
- Shop floor scheduling and constraints
- Exposure to Supply Chain Management (SCM) concepts
- Awareness of Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing trends
Education
- BE / BTech (Mandatory)
- MBA (Preferred)
- SAP Certification in PPDS / S/4HANA Manufacturing (preferred)
