SAP FSM Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SAP FSM Consultant based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to design, implement, and support SAP Field Service and Asset Management solutions for complex service and maintenance environments. You will work across the full lifecycle of SAP FSAM engagements, from requirements gathering and configuration through testing, go-live, and ongoing application support. The position combines deep functional expertise with hands-on work across planning, dispatching, mobile field execution, asset management, and ERP integration. You will help organizations optimize technician scheduling, service execution, asset-centric processes, and billing-related workflows. Working closely with service teams, technical specialists, and integration stakeholders, you will translate business requirements into scalable and effective SAP solutions. The role also provides exposure to AI-supported scheduling, SAP S/4HANA, mobile technologies, and modern integration approaches.

Accountabilities

• Lead and support end-to-end SAP FSAM implementations and rollouts, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, go-live, and hypercare.
• Configure core SAP FSAM capabilities including the Planning & Dispatching Board, Service Map, Work Orders, Activities, and Time & Material Journal.
• Set up AI-supported and automated scheduling, dispatching, route optimization, and technician or resource planning.
• Configure service call and work-order lifecycles, skills and qualifications, service territories, and workforce or crowd management processes.
• Implement mobile field-service execution, including technician mobile applications, offline scenarios, checklists, Smartforms, and service or activity feedback.
• Support asset management processes covering equipment, installed base, maintenance orders, notifications, and asset-centric service execution in alignment with SAP S/4HANA Asset Management.
• Design and support integrations between SAP FSAM and SAP S/4HANA or ERP environments using standard connectors, integration frameworks, APIs, and data loaders.
• Configure and maintain master-data flows for equipment, functional locations, service contracts, entitlements, business partners, and products.
• Support time and material recording, service confirmations, and billing-relevant feedback to ERP systems for settlement.
• Perform functional, integration, unit, and regression testing, including preparation and execution of test scripts and support for UAT.
• Provide application management and production support, including incident and problem management, root-cause analysis, enhancement handling, and SLA adherence.
• Prepare functional specifications for extensions and interfaces and collaborate with developers and integration teams on custom logic, APIs, and reports.
• Deliver end-user and technician training, knowledge transfer, and comprehensive functional and configuration documentation.
• Advise stakeholders on SAP best practices, upgrade-safe and clean-core approaches, and new SAP FSAM capabilities across product releases.
  
  

Requirements

• 5–8 years of overall SAP experience, including at least 2–4 years of hands-on experience with SAP FSAM or SAP Field Service Management.
• Strong functional knowledge of field-service and asset-management processes, including work-order lifecycles, planning and dispatching, mobile execution, and service confirmation.
• Hands-on experience configuring SAP FSAM capabilities such as dispatching boards, service maps, work orders, activities, scheduling, checklists, and Smartforms.
• Proven experience with FSAM and SAP S/4HANA integration, particularly around Asset Management, Service, and ERP processes, using connectors, APIs, and data loaders.
• Strong understanding of asset and service master data, including equipment, functional locations, installed bases, service contracts, entitlements, and business partners.
• Familiarity with mobile field-service execution and offline operating scenarios.
• Ability to create clear functional specifications and collaborate effectively with developers, technical teams, and integration specialists.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• SAP FSM/FSAM certification is preferred.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Asset Management, EAM, Plant Maintenance, and end-to-end maintenance or service processes is an advantage.
• Exposure to SAP Service and Asset Manager, SAP Mobile Services, SAP BTP, or SAP Integration Suite is desirable.
• Knowledge of API-based integration patterns, AI-supported scheduling optimization, workforce management, analytics, and dashboards is valuable.
• Experience in AMS or managed services and Agile delivery environments is preferred.
• Domain experience in manufacturing, utilities, high-tech, medical devices, oil and gas, or equipment servicing is a plus.
