Job Description SAP FICO Consultant (EPC Industry)
Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced SAP FICO Consultant with strong exposure to project-driven finance processes in the EPC, Oil & Gas, or Hydrocarbon engineering industry. The candidate will be responsible for delivering SAP solutions, supporting finance and controlling operations, and ensuring seamless integration with project execution workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand business requirements from Finance, Accounts, Cost Control, and Project teams, and translate them into effective SAP solutions.
- Configure and support SAP FI modules:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Bank Accounting & Treasury
- Taxation (including GST / VAT / Withholding Tax)
- Asset Accounting (capital projects, project-based capitalization)
- Configure and support SAP CO modules:
- Cost Center Accounting
- Internal Orders
- Profitability Analysis (COPA)
- Project cost planning and budget control
- Support project-based financial processes:
- WBS accounting, budgeting, and settlement
- Project cash flow tracking
- Cost forecasting and variance analysis
- Subcontractor billing and progress measurement support
- Work closely with SAP PS, MM, SD, PM, and HR teams for cross-functional process integration.
- Provide daily functional support, troubleshoot system issues, and coordinate with ABAP/Basis teams for development and system enhancements.
- Ensure accuracy in month-end and year-end closing activities for project-driven organizations.
- Create and maintain functional documentation, test cases, training materials, and SOPs.
- Participate in rollouts, migrations, and S/4HANA upgrade projects within the EPC/Hydrocarbon environment.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
- 410 years of hands-on experience in SAP FICO, preferably in EPC, Oil & Gas, or Hydrocarbon engineering industries.
- Strong understanding of project accounting, cost control, budgeting, and contract-related finance processes.
- Experience in configuring and supporting both FI and CO modules.
- Good knowledge of taxation, asset accounting, and statutory financial compliance.
- Experience working with cross-functional SAP modules (PS, MM, SD).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in S/4HANA Finance.
- Exposure to EPC project lifecycles, subcontracting, procurement, and billing.
- Familiarity with Fiori apps and SAP Activate methodology.
- Ability to work with large project datasets and complex WBS structures.
