About the Role
We are looking for an experienced SAP FICO Consultant to lead Finance and Controlling operations within Application Management Services (AMS) engagements. This role requires strong functional expertise across SAP FICO sub-modules, hands-on experience in automation of SAP financial processes, and the ability to lead and mentor teams. You will play a key role in ensuring stable financial operations, compliance, and continuous improvement across SAP landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
AMS Delivery & Operations
- Manage day-to-day AMS support activities for SAP FICO, including incident, problem, and change management.
- Ensure system stability, SLA adherence, and continuous service improvement across FI and CO processes.
- Coordinate with cross-functional and technical teams for issue resolution and enhancements.
SAP FICO Functional Expertise
- Support and optimize SAP FICO sub-modules:
- Financial Accounting (FI): FI-GL, FI-AP, FI-AR, FI-AA, FI-BL, FI-SL
- Controlling (CO): CO-CEA, CO-CCA, CO-IO, CO-PCA, CO-PC, CO-PA
- Ensure seamless integration with other SAP modules such as MM, SD, HR, etc.
Automation & Process Improvement
- Drive automation initiatives in SAP financial processes including reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency using automation tools or frameworks.
- Recommend and implement best practices to enhance reporting and financial controls.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with business users and stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve functional gaps.
- Ensure financial processes comply with organizational policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Act as a trusted advisor for SAP FICO-related improvements and innovations.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead and mentor a team of SAP FICO consultants.
- Manage workload distribution, performance, and skill development within the team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
Mandatory Skills & Experience (Must Have)
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP FICO (FI & CO sub-modules)
- Proven experience in AMS delivery models (incident, problem, change management)
- Expertise in automation of SAP financial processes
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, controlling, and SAP integrations
- Experience leading and mentoring functional/technical teams
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred / Good to Have
- SAP FICO Certification
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and AMS governance
- Exposure to automation tools such as SAP Solution Manager, RPA platforms, or orchestration solutions
