SAP EWM ABAP Technical Senior Consultant

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled SAP EWM ABAP Technical Senior Consultant with strong hands-on experience in ABAP development and SAP EWM technical solutions.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, integrating, and supporting SAP EWM solutions using ABAP. The role requires strong technical expertise in SAP EWM development, interfaces, enhancements, debugging, performance optimization, and technical leadership.

Only pure technical SAP EWM ABAP profiles are required. Functional or techno-functional EWM profiles will not be considered.

Key ResponsibilitiesABAP Development

• Design, develop, test, and implement ABAP solutions for SAP EWM.
• Develop custom reports, enhancements, user exits, BAdIs, interfaces, forms, and other technical objects.
• Analyze technical requirements and convert them into scalable ABAP solutions.
• Perform debugging, code corrections, and technical issue resolution.
  
  

SAP EWM Technical Development

• Work extensively on SAP EWM technical development and enhancements.
• Develop technical solutions to extend and enhance standard EWM functionality.
• Support complex EWM implementations, rollouts, upgrades, and enhancement projects.
• Work closely with EWM functional consultants to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  
  

Integration & Interfaces

• Develop and support interfaces between SAP EWM and other SAP/non-SAP systems.
• Hands-on experience with technologies such as:
• RFC
• BAPI
• IDoc
• Web services/interfaces where applicable
• Troubleshoot interface failures and ensure reliable data exchange.
  

Technical Leadership

• Lead EWM ABAP development activities for assigned projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior ABAP developers.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to SAP development standards and best practices.
• Participate in technical design discussions and solution reviews.
  
  

Requirement Analysis

• Understand business requirements provided by functional teams.
• Translate requirements into technical specifications and ABAP development solutions.
• Prepare technical design documents and development estimates.
  
  

Testing & Quality

• Perform unit testing and support integration testing/UAT.
• Analyze defects and provide appropriate technical fixes.
• Ensure developed solutions meet quality, performance, and coding standards.
  
  

Performance Optimization

• Analyze and optimize ABAP programs for performance.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement efficient technical solutions.
• Conduct debugging and performance analysis for complex EWM processes.
  
  

Production Support

• Provide technical support for SAP EWM production issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and resolve ABAP/EWM technical issues.
• Support incident, problem, and change management activities.
  
  

Documentation

• Prepare and maintain:
• Technical specifications
• Technical design documents
• Code documentation
• Test scripts/results
• Interface documentation
  

Must-Have Skills

• 8–12 years of overall SAP ABAP experience
• Strong hands-on experience in SAP EWM Technical / EWM ABAP
• Strong expertise in ABAP development
• Experience with ABAP enhancements, BAdIs, user exits, reports, debugging
• Strong experience in SAP EWM technical development
• Experience with RFC, BAPI, IDoc and SAP interfaces
• Strong debugging and performance-tuning skills
• Experience working on complex SAP EWM implementation/enhancement/support projects
• Ability to translate technical requirements into robust ABAP solutions
• Experience in technical design, development, testing, and production support
• Good communication and technical leadership skills

• SAP EWM implementation/rollout experience
• Experience with S/4HANA EWM
• Knowledge of ABAP Objects
• Experience with CDS Views / AMDP
• Exposure to OData / REST / SOAP
• Experience with SAP EWM integration with other SAP modules/systems
• SAP ABAP/EWM certification
  
  

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
