Job Description
- Act as the primary SAP functional analyst supporting EDI related integrations across modules such as SD and MM
- Analyze business requirements from trading partners and internal teams to design and support SAP IDoc flows, mappings, and EDI document handling.
- Collaborate with EDI/SI teams to ensure seamless processing of inbound and outbound IDocs including ORDERS, ORDRSP, DESADV, INVOIC, DELFOR, and DELJIT.
- Troubleshoot IDoc failures, posting errors, segment mismatches, partner profile issues, and interface inconsistencies using SAP tools (WE02, WE05, BD87, WE20, WE21).
- Coordinate with SAP ABAP developers for enhancements, user exits, BAdIs, custom mappings, and interface improvements required for EDI compliance.
- Participate in integration design sessions with EDI, Oracle/SAP functional teams, SI B2B developers, and business SMEs to validate end to end data flows.
- Maintain and configure partner profiles, port definitions, message types, and process codes for EDI/IDoc processing.
- Support functional testing, integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT) for all EDI related SAP changes.
- Ensure accurate and timely updates of master data (vendors, customers, materials, shipping points) required for EDI transactions.
- Monitor daily IDoc queues, batch jobs, and system alerts to ensure zero backlog and continuous flow of transactional data.
- Document SAP functional designs, mapping requirements, testing scenarios, and interface specifications for all EDI processes.
- Support production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive long-term corrective actions for recurring SAP EDI issues.
- Work closely with business teams to validate SAP transactional data (sales orders, purchase orders, ASN, goods issue, invoices) impacted by EDI flows.
- Ensure SAP configurations are aligned with organizational standards, compliance requirements, and global EDI architecture.
- Drive improvements in SAP interface performance, data accuracy, and transaction automation as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong functional knowledge of SAP SD, MM, PP, WM, and their integration points with EDI.
- Deep expertise in SAP IDoc processing, including: Message types (ORDERS, INVOIC, DESADV, DELFOR, etc.) Segments and segment mapping Processing codes, partner profiles, ports ALE/EDI

- Hands-on experience in SAP interface troubleshooting using: WE02 / WE05 (IDoc Monitor)
- BD87 (Reprocessing) WE19 (Test tool) SM35, SM13, SM37 (Batch & error handling)
- Understanding of EDIFACT and ANSI X12 message structures and how they map into SAP IDocs.
- Experience collaborating with B2B ecosystems using Sterling Integrator / B2B Integrator (SI/IB2BI).
- Solid understanding of master data dependencies for smooth EDI processing (customer/vendor, materials, units, shipping points, pricing).
- Strong ability to translate SAP issues into technical mapping requirements for EDI and SI teams.
