An SAP Delivery Manager oversees the end-to-end delivery of SAP projects (implementations, upgrades) and Managed Services (AMS), ensuring high-quality, on-time, and profitable delivery. Responsibilities include managing client stakeholders, SLA adherence, team leadership (onshore/offshore), project financials (P&L), risk management, and driving service optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Service & Project Delivery: Accountable for the successful delivery of SAP projects (blueprint, design, build, test, deploy, go-live) and Support (AMS) services.
- Stakeholder & Client Management: Acts as the primary contact, managing expectations, conducting regular status meetings (including QBRs), and maintaining high client satisfaction.
- Financial & Contract Management: Manages project budgets, margins (P&L), and contract renewals.
- Team Leadership & Resource Management: Coordinates cross-functional, global teams (onshore/offshore), manages resource allocation, and fosters skill development.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensures adherence to SAP methodologies (Activate, Agile), ITIL processes, SLA/KPI metrics, and internal audit requirements.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identifies risks, manages escalations, and implements mitigation strategies.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifies automation opportunities and process optimizations, particularly in the SAP landscape (S/4HANA, ECC).
Key Requirements & Skills
- Experience: Proven experience in a Service Delivery Manager or similar role with 18 to 20+ years of SAP/IT experience.
- Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of SAP components and landscapes (e.g., S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, RISE, BTP, Solution Manager).
- Frameworks: Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, Scrum, and SAP Activate.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or Engineering is required.
