Roles and Responsibilities:
Data Archiving Implementation:
- Implement archiving objects specific to Finance & Controlling functions, including FI_DOCUMNT, Vertex Logs, and Workflow
- Configure archiving programs to identify, archive, and delete data in line with retention policies
- Test archiving procedures to ensure data integrity and efficient retrieval
Data Retention and Compliance:
- Design and enforce data retention policies for FI & CO module data aligning with legal and company requirements
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations during archiving
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on retention policies and archiving procedures
System Optimization:
- Analyze and optimize archiving processes to reduce SAP database size and enhance system performance
- Monitor and improve data archiving workflows
- Collaborate with other SAP functional teams (SD, MM) to maintain consistent archiving practices across SAP landscape
Problem Solving and Support:
- Provide training to users on data archiving procedures
- Troubleshoot archiving issues and offer support
- Participate actively in data archiving projects and share best practices
Required Skills:
- Strong expertise in SAP FI & CO modules including tax integration using Vertex
- Extensive experience in SAP data archiving tools and techniques (e.g., SARA, archiving objects, retention management)
- Experience with ABAP development for customizing archiving objects
- Knowledge of SAP database management and performance tuning
- Understanding of SAP landscape management and integration across modules
