Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Vertex Integration Specialist to support, enhance, and manage Vertex tax engine integrations across global regions including the USA, Israel, APAC, and EMEA.

The role involves:

• SAP–Vertex integration management
• Vertex namespace developments in SAP S/4HANA
• Vertex Cloud Solution configuration and administration
• BAU (Business-As-Usual) production support
• Multi-country indirect tax solution support

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA, ABAP development, Vertex tax solutions, and cloud-based integrations.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP–Vertex Integration Management

• Manage and support end-to-end integration between SAP S/4HANA and Vertex tax solutions.
• Configure and maintain Vertex Cloud Connector for secure communication between SAP and Vertex Cloud.
• Ensure seamless integration and data synchronization across SAP FI, SD, and MM modules.
• Manage tax determination, jurisdiction codes, and tax calculation logic for:
• USA
• Israel
• APAC
• EMEA regions
• Troubleshoot integration issues related to:
• Real-time tax calculation
• Batch tax processing
• Interface failures
• Perform root cause analysis and provide resolution for production issues.

2. Vertex Namespace Development (ABAP)

• Design, develop, and maintain custom developments under the Vertex namespace in SAP S/4HANA.
• Implement:
• ABAP enhancements
• BAdIs
• User Exits
• Custom tax logic
• Develop country-specific and business-specific tax solutions.
• Collaborate with SAP functional and technical teams to align customizations with Vertex APIs and cloud architecture.
• Conduct:
• Code reviews
• Performance tuning
• Technical documentation

3. Vertex Cloud Solution Administration

• Configure and support Vertex Cloud Solution environments.
• Manage browser-based Vertex administration, monitoring, and reporting tools.
• Coordinate with Vertex support teams for:
• Upgrades
• Patch deployments
• Environment refreshes
• Ensure tax content updates and regulatory compliance across all supported regions.
• Monitor system performance and integration health.

4. BAU (Business-As-Usual) Support

• Provide day-to-day production support for SAP–Vertex integrations.
• Handle:
• Incident management
• Change requests
• Performance monitoring
• SLA adherence
• Maintain issue logs and perform periodic reconciliations.
• Support regression testing during:
• SAP S/4HANA upgrades
• Vertex patch releases
• Cross-module changes
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for support teams and business users.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with:
• Finance teams
• Tax teams
• IT teams
• Translate business tax requirements into technical solutions.
• Coordinate with SAP Basis and Security teams for:
• Connectivity setup
• Certificates
• Access management
• Collaborate with Vertex Support and SAP OSS teams for technical escalations and issue resolution.

Required Skills and Experience

8–10+ years of experience in SAP S/4HANA with strong Vertex integration expertise.

Hands-on experience with:

• SAP S/4HANA
• Vertex O Series
• Vertex Cloud Connector
• Strong knowledge of SAP:
• FI
• SD
• MM tax determination processes
• Expertise in ABAP development including:
• Enhancements
• BAdIs
• User Exits
• Experience with cloud integration technologies:

• CPI
• APIs
• RFCs
• Experience supporting multi-country tax environments.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
