Role: Data Migration Senior Consultant – BODS & ABAP

Experience: 10–12 years

Location: Offshore (Remote)

Shift: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM IST (tentative)

Employment type: Contract (1year)

Key Responsibilities

• Define migration approach, object scope, and acceptance criteria with functional leads and business owners
• Author mapping, transformation, and technical specifications for retail migration objects
• Design and build BODS jobs/dataflows and custom ABAP programs (extraction, BAPI/BDC loads, post-load correction)
• Manage end-to-end data flow from legacy systems through staging into S/4HANA, including delta, repeat, and rollback handling
• Plan mock load cycles, build reconciliation reports, and secure business sign-off before cutover
• Define data quality rules and validation standards for retail master data
• Tune BODS jobs and ABAP programs for high-volume processing within cutover windows
• Serve as technical SME through go-live and hypercare, report progress to the Data Migration Lead
• Collaborate with functional, ABAP, and Basis teams; lead validation workshops; mentor junior resources

Essential Requirements

• 10–12 years of SAP experience across data migration and ABAP development
• Advanced hands-on SAP Data Services (BODS): job design, reusable frameworks, error handling, performance tuning
• Mandatory: at least one complete greenfield SAP S/4HANA retail implementation, end to end
• Proven expertise in retail master data objects (article, article hierarchy, site master, vendor, customer, inventory)
• Strong ABAP skills: reports, ALV, BAPIs, BDC/LSMW, enhancements, CDS views, AMDP
• Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit (LTMC/LTMOM) and staging tables
• Strong SQL skills for data profiling and large-volume reconciliation
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Data Services, S/4HANA Data Migration, or ABAP certification
• Experience with multi-location, multi-country, multi-currency retail SAP projects
• Familiarity with Agile/hybrid methodologies and defect management tools (Jira, Solution Manager)
