Job Title: SAP BW/ABAP Consultant
Experience: 6+ years
Location: India Offshore (with may travel to client location)
About the Role
We are looking for an SAP BW/ABAP Consultant to design and deliver data warehousing and analytics solutions on the SAP stack. The role is hands-on across the full BW lifecycle, from source extraction to reporting layer, and includes direct engagement with business and functional stakeholders for requirements and data mapping.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop SAP BW data models: ADSOs, CompositeProviders, transformations, and DTPs
- Build custom ECC/S4 extractors (generic and function-module based) with delta handling, including datasources over custom (Z) tables
- Develop ABAP/AMDP routines for business logic within BW transformations
- Analyze and reverse-engineer existing custom ABAP reports and programs
- Design, schedule, and monitor process chains, including error handling and recovery
- Lead requirements, data-mapping, and KPI-definition workshops with business stakeholders and functional SMEs; translate business needs into technical specifications
- Integrate BW with front-end BI tools and support semantic model design
- Perform unit testing and data validation; manage transports across landscape environments
- Produce technical documentation and deliver knowledge transfer
Required Skills
- 6+ years of SAP BW development experience (BW 7.x / BW on HANA / BW/4HANA)
- Strong ABAP: function-module extractors, transformation routines, debugging and reading custom code
- Hands-on delta extraction experience (ODP framework)
- Solid process chain design and load-monitoring experience
- Experience exposing BW data to BI tools (Power BI preferred)
- Proven stakeholder-facing skills: workshop facilitation, requirements gathering, clear communication
Nice to Have
- SAP functional knowledge in QM/MM/FI modules
- Power BI and Power BI Report Server familiarity
- BEx query design experience
- Experience in regulated industries (energy, utilities, manufacturing)
