SAP BTP UI5 Lead Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Developer – SAP BTP CAPM & UI5 to drive the design, development, and deployment of scalable enterprise applications on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in both backend development using SAP CAPM and frontend development using SAPUI5/Fiori, along with hands-on experience in SAP BTP services, Cloud Foundry, and HANA-based application development.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy scalable applications on SAP BTP – Cloud Foundry environment.

Lead full-stack application development using SAP CAPM and SAPUI5/Fiori technologies.

Build and consume RESTful APIs and OData (V2/V4) services.

Develop responsive and intuitive UI applications using SAPUI5, Fiori Elements, and custom UI controls.

Implement data models, CDS views, and database designs using SAP HANA DB and SAP Core Data Services (CDS).

Work with SAP BTP services such as:

• Destination
• Connectivity
• Launchpad / Workzone
• Object Store
• Workflows
• Business Application Studio (BAS)

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.

Participate in code reviews, deployment activities, troubleshooting, and production support.

Mentor junior developers and contribute to development best practices and technical governance.

Must-Have

SAP BTP & Backend Development

• Hands-on experience in SAP BTP Cloud Foundry application development and deployment.
• Strong expertise in SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAPM).
• Experience in Java / Spring Framework (Spring MVC & Spring Boot).
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design Principles and scalable application architecture.
• Expertise in RESTful Web Services, JSON endpoints, and API development.
• Experience with JPA, ORM, CRUD operations, and data persistence frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of SAP HANA DB, CDS Views, and data modeling.
• Experience with Olingo OData services.

SAPUI5 / Frontend Development

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with SAPUI5 / SAP Fiori development.
• Strong understanding of SAPUI5 framework, architecture, and Fiori Elements.
• Experience developing applications using OData service endpoints (V2/V4).
• Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive UI development.
• Experience in custom controls, third-party control integrations, and Launchpad configurations.
• Experience with Build Workzone, BAS, and UX solution delivery on SAP BTP.

General Development Skills

• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git / SVN.
• Familiarity with tools such as Maven, Gradle, Grunt, Gulp, etc.
• Understanding of automated testing frameworks and unit testing methodologies.

Good-to-Have

Experience with Redis caching and background job scheduling tools.

Experience with SAP Multi-Target Applications (MTA).

Knowledge of Launchpad Theme Designing.

Experience working with REST web service integrations.

Understanding of BTP landscape setup, service configuration, and troubleshooting through logs.
