SAP BTP UI5/Fiori Application & Integration Engineer

Experience

* 4–6 years of overall SAP application development and support experience.

* At least 4 years of hands-on experience with SAPUI5, Fiori and SAP BTP.

* Practical experience supporting production applications and resolving business-critical incidents.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain, troubleshoot and enhance approximately 10 SAPUI5/Fiori applications hosted on SAP BTP.

* Diagnose application issues across the UI, OData/API, authentication, connectivity and backend layers.

* Develop and enhance freestyle SAPUI5 applications and Fiori Elements applications using JavaScript, XML views, controllers, fragments and reusable components.

* Support BTP application deployment, destinations, roles, authorization, Cloud Connector, Work Zone/Launchpad and Cloud Foundry services.

* Work with OData V2/V4, REST and SOAP services and troubleshoot data exchange between UI5 applications and SAP or non-SAP systems.

* Provide secondary support for SAP Integration Suite interfaces, including iFlow monitoring, message tracing, error resolution, mappings and minor interface enhancements.

* Manage application releases using SAP Business Application Studio, Git, CI/CD pipelines and BTP transport mechanisms.

* Create and maintain technical documentation, support runbooks, interface mappings and deployment procedures.

* Coordinate with business users, SAP functional teams, backend developers and the primary Integration Suite engineer to resolve incidents and deliver enhancements.

Required Technical Skills

* Strong hands-on knowledge of SAPUI5, Fiori Elements, JavaScript, XML, HTML5 and CSS.

* Experience with SAP BTP Cloud Foundry, Business Application Studio and Work Zone or Fiori Launchpad.

* Strong understanding of OData services, REST APIs, JSON and XML.

* Experience with authentication and authorization concepts such as XSUAA, role collections, destinations and principal propagation.

* Working experience with SAP Integration Suite/Cloud Integration, including iFlows, adapters, mappings, monitoring and message troubleshooting.

* Familiarity with SAP Cloud Connector and connectivity between BTP, SAP systems and external applications.

* Experience with Git-based development, application deployment and production support.

Preferred Skills

* Experience with CAP using Node.js or Java.

* Understanding of ABAP, SAP Gateway and backend OData service troubleshooting.

* Experience with S/4HANA, SuccessFactors or other SAP cloud applications.

* Exposure to Fiori application modernization or migration to React is beneficial.

The ideal candidate should be strong enough to independently own UI5/Fiori application support while acting as a reliable backup for day-to-day SAP BTP interface monitoring and troubleshooting.
