Key Responsibilities
- Configure and implement SAP Document Information Extraction (DOX) service on BTP for document processing use cases.
- Define the document schema, identifying key header and line-item fields (e.g., Vendor Name, Invoice Number, PO Number, Amount, Tax, etc.).
- Perform data extraction setup, testing, and tuning to improve field recognition accuracy using SAP's pre-trained models.
- Collaborate with SAP Functional Consultants (FI/MM/SD) to map extracted fields to SAP data objects for validation and reporting.
- Support integration with other BTP services such as:
- SAP Build Process Automation for orchestration,
- SAP Integration Suite for SAP backend data validation,
- SAP UI5 for file upload and output presentation.
- Conduct confidence score analysis and recommend post-processing logic for low-confidence data.
- Prepare test cases and validation reports for extraction results.
- Support the demo or PoC presentation by showcasing extraction accuracy, key insights, and integration flow.
- Document configuration steps, API calls, and service parameters for handover.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in SAP BTP with a focus on Document Information Extraction or Intelligent Document Processing.
- Hands-on expertise in configuring and consuming the SAP Document AI APIs and related BTP services.
- Good understanding of OCR concepts, document parsing, and data extraction logic.
- Experience in JSON-based payload handling, REST APIs, and integration via SAP Integration Suite (CPI).
- Familiarity with SAP Build Process Automation or SAP Workflow Management is desirable.
- Knowledge of SAP FI/MM processes, especially in vendor invoice management, is an advantage.
- Ability to analyze unstructured document formats (PDF, image-based, hybrid) and define appropriate field extraction strategies.
- Strong debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
- SAP BTP or AI-related certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Citizen Developer Associate - SAP Build Process Automation, SAP AI Core/AI Launchpad) preferred.
- Deliverables (Specific to PoC Scenario)
- Configured Document AI service instance on BTP.
- Defined extraction template/schema for invoice header and item fields.
- Document AI test results report showing field extraction accuracy.
- Integration API documentation (for UI5/Process Automation).
- Demo-ready setup showcasing upload → extraction → Excel output.
