Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain SAP bolt-on and custom applications.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical designs and application solutions.
- Develop custom SAP applications using ABAP, ABAP Objects, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, OData, and CDS Views.
- Develop and maintain custom reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
- Implement SAP enhancement techniques including:
- User Exits
- Customer Exits
- BAdIs
- Enhancement Framework
- Business Transaction Events (BTE)
- Develop user-friendly Fiori/UI5 applications integrated with SAP business processes.
- Build integrations using BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, REST APIs, SOAP services, and OData.
- Work with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Coordinate with SAP functional teams across FI, MM, SD, PP, WM/EWM, and Supply Chain modules.
- Develop technical specifications, solution design documents, interface specifications, and deployment plans.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and support UAT activities.
- Troubleshoot application defects, interface failures, performance issues, and data-processing errors.
- Perform ABAP debugging and performance tuning.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to SAP development and coding standards.
- Ensure custom applications comply with SAP security, authorization, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Support transport management, deployment, cutover, go-live, and hypercare activities.
- Provide production support and perform root-cause analysis for recurring issues.
- Maintain technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to support teams.
- Support modernization of legacy custom applications for SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, and SAP BTP.
- 6+ years of overall SAP Development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP and ABAP Objects.
- Experience in developing custom/bolt-on SAP applications.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Reports
- Interfaces
- Enhancements
- Forms
- Workflows
- ABAP Objects
- Hands-on experience with SAP Fiori / SAPUI5.
- Experience with OData services and SAP Gateway.
- Experience with BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, REST APIs, and SOAP services.
- Good understanding of SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.
- Experience working with SAP tables, data structures, and authorization concepts.
- Knowledge of CDS Views, AMDP, and SAP HANA.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills.
- Understanding of SAP transport management and deployment processes.
- Experience preparing technical specifications based on functional requirements.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, UAT, deployment, and production support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with SAP BTP and SAP application extension services.
- Knowledge of SAP Extension Suite and Clean Core principles.
- Experience with SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP).
- Knowledge of RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model).
- Experience with SAP HANA, CDS Views, and AMDP.
- Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Node.js, or cloud-native application development.
- Exposure to SAP Business Application Studio.
- Experience with SAP Workflow Management, SAP Build Apps, or SAP Build Process Automation.
- Experience integrating SAP with external applications and middleware platforms.
- Knowledge of Git, DevOps, CI/CD, and automated deployment.
- Experience in SAP S/4HANA migration, transformation, carve-out, or modernization projects.
- Understanding of application security, role-based access, and data-protection requirements.
