About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS) Developer to join our team on a short-term contract. This role involves designing and optimizing ETL processes, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain BODS ETL jobs and Oracle PL/SQL packages.
- Optimize existing ETL jobs for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Implement data quality checks, reconciliation rules, and exception handling within BODS.
- Collaborate with data architects and analysts to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Integrate data from SAP and non-SAP sources into enterprise data warehouses and analytics platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to failed jobs, data inconsistencies, and performance bottlenecks.
- Manage code migration and deployment across Dev, QA, and Production environments.
- Set up job monitoring, alerts, and dashboards for proactive issue detection.
- Prepare technical documentation, data mapping, test cases, and user guides.
- Provide end-user support and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with data security, governance, and regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 36 years of hands-on experience with SAP BODS.
- Proven expertise in optimizing ETL jobs and Oracle PL/SQL packages.
- Strong understanding of BODS transformations, dataflows, workflows, and functions.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA).
- Advanced knowledge of PL/SQL, including Oracle packages and stored procedures.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (SCDs, fact/dimension modeling, normalization).
- Experience with BODS Management Console, job monitoring, and repository management.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux scripting for automation and job execution.
- Knowledge of ETL best practices, error handling, data validation, and performance tuning.
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
