We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven SAP professional to join our senior team. The successful candidate will serve as a SAP Basis/HANA Architect, a Project/Implementation Lead, an AMS Support Lead, and a key player in Presales activities. This role requires deep technical mastery in SAP Basis and SAP HANA/S/4HANA technologies, coupled with strong leadership, communication, and commercial acumen to drive successful client engagements from initial concept through to long-term operations.
Key Responsibilities
- SAP Solution Architecture & Technical Strategy (Architect)
- SAP Landscape Design: Design and architect complex, scalable, and resilient SAP landscapes (ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, SolMan, PO/PI, BTP) across on-premises, public, and private cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP, RISE with SAP).
- HANA Expertise: Provide expert-level guidance on SAP HANA database administration, high-availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), performance tuning, security, and data volume management.
- Technical Roadmap: Define the technical roadmap for customers SAP systems, aligning with business objectives and SAP's Intelligent Enterprise strategy.
- Standardization & Governance: Establish and enforce technical standards, best practices, and governance policies for the SAP Basis domain.
- Project Leadership & Implementation (Project Lead)
- Migration & Upgrade Strategy: Lead the planning and execution of complex SAP projects, including:
- S/4HANA System Conversions (Brownfield) and New Implementations (Greenfield).
- OS/DB Migrations (e.g., to HANA or Cloud).
- Major SAP Release Upgrades, EHP installations, and Support Pack/Stack application (using tools like SUM/DMO).
- Cutover Management: Develop and lead detailed, near-zero downtime cutover strategies for go-lives.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the technical lead, coordinating closely with Functional, Development (ABAP/Fiori), Infrastructure, and client teams.
- Delivery Assurance: Ensure project deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Presales & Business Development
- Solutioning: Act as the primary technical subject matter expert (SME) during the presales phase, conceptualizing and designing competitive technical solutions (including AMS, Migration, Upgrade, and Cloud strategies).
- Proposal Development: Contribute technical content to RFPs/RFIs, SOWs (Statements of Work), and proposals, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with client requirements.
- Sizing & TCO/ROI: Conduct comprehensive SAP system sizing (Hardware and Cloud resources) and develop detailed TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and ROI (Return on Investment) models to support commercial proposals.
- Client Presentations: Present technical solutions and strategies confidently to C-level executives, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
- Application Management Services (AMS) Leadership (AMS Support Lead)
- Support Strategy: Design and lead the delivery model for SAP Basis Application Management Services (AMS), ensuring SLA adherence and high customer satisfaction.
- Escalation Management: Serve as the top-tier technical escalation point for critical incidents, problem management, and complex Basis/HANA issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive proactive technical improvements, automation initiatives, and performance optimization within the managed services landscape.
- Team Mentorship: Mentor and guide Basis/HANA administrators and support teams, fostering technical growth and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Skills
Must-Have
- Experience: 12+ years of overall SAP Basis experience, with at least 5+ years in an Architect or Lead role, including demonstrable Presales experience.
- Have worked in Tier-1 organization with at least 2 implementations and 3-4 Upgrade/migration experience.
- Technical Mastery: Deep hands-on expertise in SAP Bais, NetWeaver, S/4HANA and HANA ,Oracle, MSSQL and other database administration.
- Migration Expertise: Proven experience leading multiple full-cycle SAO OS/DB migrations including SAP S/4HANA Conversions/Migrations and major system upgrades.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Strong working knowledge of running SAP on at least one major Hyperscaler (Azure, AWS, or GCP) or in a RISE with SAP context.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading large, distributed, and cross-functional technical teams (both project and support).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and executive leadership.
Preferred
- SAP Basis Certified Technology Associate/Specialist in S/4HANA or NetWeaver
- Certification in one or more major public cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solution Architect).
- Experience with SAP Automation tools, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Proficiency in IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks, particularly ITIL.
