Job Description

Key Responsibilities

SAP Basis & HANA Administration

  • Provide Level-2 support for SAP systems including ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager, and SAP HANA DB
  • Perform SAP system installations, upgrades, kernel patches, and SP upgrades
  • Manage client administration, transports (STMS), and system refreshes (copy/clone)
  • Administer SAP HANA databases including monitoring, backup, recovery, and performance tuning

Monitoring & Performance Management

  • Monitor system performance using DBACOCKPIT, ST04, SM50/66, HANA Studio
  • Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks, dumps, and background job failures
  • Proactively manage system availability, capacity planning, and alerts

Security & Compliance

  • Manage SAP user administration, roles, and authorizations (basic to intermediate)
  • Support security audits, compliance checks, and system hardening
  • Apply SAP security notes and recommendations

Incident, Change & Problem Management

  • Act as L2 escalation point for complex Basis and HANA issues
  • Work closely with L1 support, functional teams, and SAP vendors
  • Follow ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management
  • Support on-call / weekend maintenance activities

Cloud & DR (Preferred)

  • Support SAP systems hosted on AWS / Azure / GCP
  • Assist with DR planning, failover testing, and backup strategy

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in SAP Basis & HANA Administration
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP HANA, S/4HANA, ECC
  • Expertise in Linux/Unix OS administration
  • Experience with SAP monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of transport management, system refresh, and lifecycle management
