SAP BASIS HANA Administrator

Job Summary:

The SAP BASIS HANA Administrator is responsible for managing the SAP technical environment with a specific focus on SAP HANA databases. This role includes installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of SAP applications running on HANA to ensure optimal system performance, availability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain SAP applications (S/4HANA, BW/4HANA) and HANA databases
• Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and resolve system and database issues
• Perform regular system maintenance including patching, kernel upgrades, and HANA revisions
• Manage system copies, backups, recovery, and high availability configurations
• Administer transport management system and perform client administration tasks
• Coordinate with functional and development teams to support deployments and integrations
• Ensure security compliance, including user management and role-based access control
• Automate routine tasks and contribute to performance optimization
• Document system configuration, technical procedures, and change management
• Support project upgrades, migrations, and go-live cutovers

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in SAP BASIS and HANA database administration
• Proficient in managing S/4HANA and BW/4HANA systems
• Strong knowledge of SAP HANA database architecture, backup, recovery, and performance tuning
• Experience with SAP tools like SAP Solution Manager, SAP Host Agent, and SAPCAR
• Familiarity with operating systems (Linux/Unix/Windows) and shell scripting
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
