We are looking for a skilled SAP Basis Support Engineer with 2+ years of hands-on experience in SAP system administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and support activities. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining SAP landscapes, ensuring system availability, performance optimization, and supporting day-to-day Basis operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform SAP Basis administration and support for SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, or Solution Manager systems.
- Monitor SAP systems and ensure high availability and performance.
- Handle SAP start/stop activities and system health checks.
- Perform client copies, kernel upgrades, patches, and transports management.
- Manage user administration, roles, and authorizations in coordination with security teams.
- Monitor background jobs, spool management, dumps (ST22), locks (SM12), and system logs.
- Support backup and recovery activities.
- Work on transport management system (TMS) and troubleshoot transport failures.
- Coordinate with functional and infrastructure teams for issue resolution.
- Perform performance tuning at application and database levels.
- Maintain system documentation and SOPs.
- Support incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Participate in on-call support and weekend maintenance activities if required.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of SAP Basis administration concepts.
- Experience with SAP ECC/S4HANA environments.
- Hands-on experience in:
- SAP installation and configuration
- Kernel upgrade and patching
- Transport management
- System refresh/client copy
- Performance monitoring
- Knowledge of HANA/Oracle/SQL databases.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
- Experience with SAP monitoring transactions (SM37, SM21, ST22, DBACOCKPIT, SCC4, etc.).
- Understanding of SAP security and authorizations.
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
