Job Title: SAP Basis Administrator (Contract Remote, US Working Hours)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Administrator for a remote contract position. This role requires working US business hours (night shift) and supporting the stability, performance, and security of our SAP landscape. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a fast-paced technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC, BW, Solution Manager, etc.).
- Perform daily system health checks and monitor performance across SAP environments.
- Manage transport requests and ensure the smooth movement of changes across DEV/QA/PROD.
- Handle SAP user administration, roles, profiles, and authorization troubleshooting.
- Administer SAP databases (HANA, Oracle, SQL Server) including performance tuning and monitoring.
- Execute system upgrades, kernel patches, support package installations, and system refreshes.
- Troubleshoot system errors, short dumps, logs, and performance bottlenecks.
- Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations.
- Collaborate with development, functional, and infrastructure teams to resolve technical issues.
- Support cloud-hosted SAP systems (AWS, Azure, GCP) if required.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on SAP Basis administration experience.
- Strong understanding of SAP system architecture, landscapes, and transport management.
- Experience with SAP HANA and/or traditional databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows server administration.
- Familiarity with network, storage, and system monitoring concepts.
- Experience with system copies, upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in ST22, SM21, SM37, SM12, and similar tools.
