Job Title: SAP ABAP Developer / Senior ABAP Consultant

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to design, develop, and maintain custom solutions within our SAP landscape. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on expertise in ABAP programming, a solid understanding of SAP functional modules, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with functional consultants, architects, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy custom ABAP programs, including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows (RICEFW objects)
• Build and enhance ALV reports, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and SAPscript
• Develop and consume OData services using SEGW and CDS views for Fiori/UI5 applications
• Implement enhancements using user exits, customer exits, BAdIs, and the Enhancement Framework
• Develop and maintain interfaces using IDocs, ALE, BAPIs, RFCs, and web services (SOAP/REST)
• Perform performance tuning and code optimization using tools such as SE30, ST05, and SAT
• Analyze business requirements with functional teams and translate them into technical specifications
• Prepare technical design documents and unit test cases
• Provide L2/L3 support, troubleshoot production issues, and resolve defects within SLAs
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to SAP coding standards and best practices
• Support SAP upgrades, migrations, and S/4HANA conversion activities
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team

Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 5-6 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development
• Strong knowledge of ABAP OO, Data Dictionary, Module Pool programming, and Function Modules
• Experience with Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and ALV (classical and OO)
• Proficiency in IDocs, ALE, BAPI, RFC, and Enhancement techniques
• Hands-on experience with OData, CDS Views, and AMDP
• Working knowledge of ABAP on HANA and performance optimization techniques
• Familiarity with transport management (STMS) and debugging tools
• Experience with at least one SAP module's data model (SD, MM, FI/CO, PP, or WM)

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a team as well as independently
• Client-facing experience and ability to manage priorities under deadlines

Preferred / Good to Have

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration projects
• Knowledge of RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) and SAP Fiori/UI5 basics
• Exposure to SAP BTP, ABAP Cloud, or Clean Core development principles
• Experience with ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• SAP certification in ABAP or related areas
