Role Description: SAP ABAP / RAP Functional Consultant

Position Summary

The SAP ABAP / RAP Functional Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom SAP solutions by translating business requirements into efficient, scalable technical implementations. The role supports enterprise SAP landscapes with a strong focus on S/4HANA, Clean Core principles, and modern SAP development standards.

Key Responsibilities

SAP ABAP Functional Responsibilities

Design, develop, and enhance SAP solutions using ABAP, aligned with business requirements.

Deliver developments across the RICEFW framework (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows).

Develop and maintain:

Custom reports

SmartForms and Adobe Forms

Enhancements using user exits, BAdIs, and enhancement frameworks

Perform data conversions and migrations using LSMW, BDC, and custom programs.

Support and maintain interfaces and integrations with SAP and non-SAP systems.

Collaborate with functional consultants across modules such as SD, MM, FI, and PP to implement end-to-end solutions.

Ensure performance optimisation, system stability, and proper technical documentation.

Provide support during unit testing, integration testing, UAT, and go-live phases.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development with functional understanding.

Practical experience with RAP, CDS Views, and OData services.

Experience working on SAP S/4HANA projects.

Good understanding of SAP functional modules (SD, MM, FI, PP).

Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and client-facing skills.

Preferred / Additional Skills

Exposure to SAP Fiori, HANA-optimised ABAP, or SAP BTP.

Experience with enterprise-scale SAP implementations.

Familiarity with SAP development best practices and performance tuning.
