Job Title: ABAP Consultant (5-7 years)

Location: RMZ Tech Park, Koramangala,Bangalore (Work from office)

Reports To: SAP Manager

Position Summary:

The Senior ABAP Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting SAP solutions using ABAP programming to meet business requirements. This role involves close collaboration with functional teams, business analysts, and end users to deliver efficient and scalable technical solutions across SAP modules. The Senior ABAP Consultant also provides technical leadership, best practice guidance, and mentorship to junior developers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Development & Customization

• Design, develop, and maintain custom programs, reports, forms, and interfaces using ABAP, including classical and interactive reports, ALV, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, and Enhancements.
• Implement and maintain smart forms, Adobe forms, and SAP scripts.
• Develop and optimize complex ABAP objects in SAP ECC or S/4HANA environments.

2. Integration & Performance

Develop and maintain interfaces using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and OData services.

Support SAP integration with external systems (e.g., PI/PO, CPI, API-based integrations).

Conduct performance tuning, debugging, and code optimization.

3. Technical Design & Documentation

Translate functional specifications into high-quality technical design documents.

Adhere to SAP development standards and ensure code quality through peer reviews and testing.

Maintain accurate technical documentation for all custom developments.

4. Support & Maintenance

Provide technical support for SAP incidents, enhancements, and upgrades.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across SAP modules (FI, MM, SD, PP, HR, etc.).

Participate in SAP system upgrades, migrations, and testing activities.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

Mentor junior ABAP developers and provide technical training when necessary.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Recommend best practices and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience: 5-7 years of hands-on ABAP development experience in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in ABAP/4, ABAP Objects, and ABAP RESTful Programming Model (RAP).

Experience with CDS Views, AMDP, and HANA-based developments

Expertise in SAP data dictionary, debugging, performance tuning, and workflow.

Strong knowledge of OData, Fiori, and UI5 integration is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 application enhancement or extension.

Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA migration and conversion tools (e.g., Custom Code Migration App).

Understanding of SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform).
