Job Description: SAP Technical Consultant (ABAP / HANA / RAP)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical SAP Technical Consultant to join our dynamic IT Services & Consulting team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality SAP technical solutions. You will leverage modern SAP technologies including SAP HANA, RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model), CDS Views, and OData Services to transform complex business requirements into scalable technical architectures.
As a permanent, full-time consultant, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and clients to drive digital transformation and optimize SAP landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and implement robust SAP technical solutions using Advanced ABAP and modern cloud-ready programming models.
- Develop modern, optimized applications using the SAP ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) for both greenfield implementations and system modernizations.
- Create and optimize complex CDS (Core Data Services) Views to enable high-performance data extraction and pushdown logic to the SAP HANA database.
- Build, extend, and consume secure OData Services (REST-based APIs) to facilitate seamless integration with SAP Fiori/UI5 applications and external systems.
- Leverage SAP HANA-specific capabilities (such as AMDP - ABAP Managed Database Procedures, Native SQL, and stored procedures) to optimize code performance.
- Conduct comprehensive code reviews, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of custom ABAP objects to ensure system stability and high efficiency.
- Analyze complex functional specifications provided by business analysts or clients and translate them into detailed technical design documents.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert, providing guidance on SAP best practices and modern extension strategies (Clean Core architecture).
- Collaborate closely with functional consultants, UI5/Fiori developers, and project managers to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery.
- Strong foundations in Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP), Enhancements (BAdIs, User Exits, BTEs), and standard RICEFW objects.
Modern SAP Architecture
- Hands-on experience with SAP RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model) for transactional and analytical applications.
- Proficiency in creating, extending, and debugging CDS Views (including annotations, access controls, and table functions).
Data & Integration
- Proven expertise in developing and exposing OData Services (via SEGW or RAP/CAP business Solid understanding of SAP HANA architecture and performance optimization techniques (Code-to-Data paradigm, AMDP).
