What you will do
- Lead frontend design direction for SAP development ABAP and Advanced ABAP (OO ABAP, Enhancements, BADIs, BAPIs, CDS, RAP, OData, AMDP, Workflows, Fiori/UI5 and SAP BTP services in alignment with Vodafone's engineering standards.
- Guide and mentor development teams on clean‑core extensibility, metadata-driven UI, and S4HANA ABAP best practices.
- Working on POC's in ABAP + Fiori based on new features to onboard to development and set it as best practice creating confluence page documentation.
- Act as the primary technical contact for engineering questions across development teams, architects, security and senior stakeholders.
- Review and challenge solution designs produced by development teams and delivery partners.
- Validate correct application lifecycle compliance, including repository structure, branch strategy, CI/CD integration, testing practices and deployment flows.
- Guide teams on CAP services, Cloud Foundry architecture, OData API design, destinations, XSUAA models and secure communication patterns.
- Support governance of Vodafone's large, multi‑market Fiori Launchpad, ensuring consistency across catalogs, roles, tiles, spaces/pages and semantic objects.
- Drive Fiori authorization governance with Security and RGC.
- Support integration design across SAP S/4HANA, BTP services, OData APIs and authentication flows.
- Produce clear technical documentation, engineering standards, reusable patterns and guidelines.
Who you are (Must‑Have Skills)
- 15+ years of SAP experience in SAP development ABAP and Advanced ABAP (OO ABAP, Enhancements, BADIs, BAPIs, CDS, RAP, OData, AMDP, Workflows, Fiori/UI5 and SAP BTP Services.
- Proven experience in end-to-end SAP implementation lifecycles and large program deliveries.
- Deep understanding of CDS, CAP, RAP, OData and clean‑core extensibility.
- Strong experience with Fiori Elements and Fiori extensibility frameworks, CI/CD, Git workflows and engineering quality gates.
- Knowledge of Cloud Foundry application architecture and cloud design principles, Familiarity with modern UX and usability principles.
- Strong experience in solution design, automation, proposal preparation, reviewing effort estimation.
- Proven experience in end-to-end SAP implementation lifecycles and large program deliveries.
- Represent technical delivery in TDA calls, ITPM discussions, SPDA/security demands, and change management forums.
- Ensure strong delivery governance, proactive risk identification, and mitigation strategies.
- Exposure to security and compliance in SAP project delivery.
- Strong track record in innovation and automation-driven process improvements.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders across business and IT.
- Strong understanding of ITPM, SPDA, and change management governance.
