About the Role
We are looking for a technically strong SAP professional to join the S/4HANA delivery team. The role is primarily hands-on technical with a solid grounding in SAP business processes. The consultant will work directly with the customer, drive solution design, and serve as a trusted technical advisor who can clearly articulate solution tradeoffs and guide stakeholders toward the right implementation approach.
Technical Development & Delivery
• Design, develop, and deploy custom ABAP / ABAP OO solutions, BAdIs, enhancement spots, and user exits within S/4HANA.
• Build and maintain integrations between S/4HANA and external systems using SAP Integration Suite (CPI), REST/SOAP APIs, IDocs, and ALE/EDI.
• Implement payment card tokenization flows and PCI-DSS-compliant interfaces; work with payment gateway vendors to securely store and retrieve card tokens in S/4HANA.
• Develop guest login and anonymous session capabilities across SAP Fiori, SAP Commerce (Hybris), or custom portals as applicable.
• Perform technical analysis, solution design documents (SDDs), unit testing, and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across ABAP, integration middleware, and connected systems.
• Participate in end-to-end testing cycles including SIT, UAT support, and performance tuning.
• Maintain technical documentation: architecture diagrams, interface catalogues, and runbooks. SAP Process & Functional Collaboration
• Understand and translate business requirements across SAP modules relevant to the engagement (SD, FI, MM, or Commerce).
• Work with functional consultants and business analysts to validate that technical solutions align with SAP best-practice process design.
• Participate in blueprint/design workshops and contribute technical feasibility input.
• Support change management by documenting functional impact of technical decisions. Customer Engagement & Advisory
• Act as the technical point of contact for the customer's business and IT teams.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language for non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactively educate the customer on the right solution approach for a given use case, including risks of custom vs. standard solutions.
• Present solution options with trade-off analysis and recommendation in customer-facing discussions and workshops.
• Build credibility and trust with the customer through transparent communication and reliable delivery
SAP Process & Functional Collaboration

Core Technical Skills
• 4–8 years of hands-on SAP development experience with S/4HANA (on-premise or cloud).
• Strong ABAP / ABAP OO programming – enhancements, BAdIs, RFCs, ALV, SmartForms/Adobe Forms.
• Proficiency in SAP Fiori / UI5 development (OData services, Fiori Elements, custom apps).
• Experience with SAP Integration Suite (CPI) or equivalent middleware (SAP PI/PO, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi).
• Hands-on experience with REST and SOAP web services, JSON/XML, and API management.
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA extensibility patterns: in-app, side-by-side, RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model).
• Familiarity with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) services.
Integration Experience
• End-to-end integration design and implementation between SAP and third-party systems (payment
gateways, CRM, eCommerce platforms, identity providers).
• Experience with payment processing integrations, tokenization standards, and PCI-DSS requirements is strongly preferred.
• OAuth 2.0, SAML, and SSO configuration for SAP systems.
• IDoc / ALE / EDI configuration and monitoring.
• Error handling, retry patterns, and monitoring in integration middleware.
SAP Process Knowledge
• Working understanding of at least two SAP process areas: Order-to-Cash (SD), Procure-to-Pay (MM), Finance (FI/CO), or SAP Commerce.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA Simplification List and differences from ECC.
• Understanding of master data concepts: Business Partner, Material Master, Customer/Vendor.
• End-to-end integration design and implementation between SAP and third-party systems (payment
gateways, CRM, eCommerce platforms, identity providers).
• Experience with payment processing integrations, tokenization standards, and PCI-DSS requirements is strongly preferred.
• OAuth 2.0, SAML, and SSO configuration for SAP systems.
• IDoc / ALE / EDI configuration and monitoring.

• Knowledge of SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, or embedded analytics in S/4HANA.
• Exposure to DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, Git-based transport management (gCTS), ABAP Test Cockpit.
• SAP certifications in S/4HANA development, integration, or relevant modules.
• Prior experience in a software services / systems integrator environment, supporting enterprise customers.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
This role requires a consultant who is as comfortable in front of a customer whiteboard as they are in a code editor. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
• Ability to explain technical concepts and solution recommendations clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Consultative mindset – listens first, understands the business problem, and then proposes the right solution rather than defaulting to custom code.
• Confidence to challenge requirements and guide the customer toward a more standard, maintainable solution when appropriate.
• Strong written communication for producing solution design documents, integration specifications, and status updates.
