About The Role
Job Summary
The IT Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring operational efficiency and user satisfaction. This role manages technical projects and provides advanced support across departments. This job profile is intended for specialist professionals that apply advanced knowledge of a job area. Required to manage projects / processes independently with limited supervision. Typically coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals.
Main Accountabilities And Tasks
- Application development and enhancement: Design, code, and test ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms (SAP Scripts & Smartforms), and workflows (RICEF).
- System customization and integration: Develop custom applications and interfaces using various technologies, including BAPIs, BADIs, IDocs, and Web Services, to connect SAP with external systems.
- Collaboration: Partner with business analysts, functional consultants, and end-users to understand business requirements and create technical specifications.
- Performance optimization: Tune and optimize existing ABAP code for performance and efficiency, and perform debugging to resolve technical issues.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, test conditions, and plans.
- Support: Provide technical support and bug fixes, and assist with system upgrades and migrations.
- FICO module integration knowledge is preferred
- Project lifecycle involvement: Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from gathering requirements and designing solutions to testing and deployment.
- Mentorship (Senior roles): Mentor and provide guidance to junior developers, conduct code reviews, and promote development best practices
- Managing the workload, tracking data defects and issues in a structured way ensuring the resolution of the high importance ticket items
- Tracking & implementing lessons learned systematically
- Require travel depending on projects needs
Required Skills, Qualifications And Work Experience
- Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required.
- ABAP programming expertise: Proven experience and proficiency in ABAP, including both procedural and Object-Oriented (OO) ABAP.
- SAP module knowledge: A strong understanding of core SAP modules such as FI (Financial Accounting), CO (Controlling), SD (Sales and Distribution), and MM (Materials Management) is essential.
- Development tools: Experience with SAP development tools, including the ABAP Workbench, Data Dictionary, and ABAP Debugger.
- Interface technologies: Proficiency with interface techniques like BAPIs, BADIs, IDocs, and RFCs for data exchange between systems.
- Modern SAP technologies: Experience with newer SAP technologies, such as S/4HANA, Fiori/UI5, and OData services, is highly valued.
- Analytical skills: Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills are necessary for troubleshooting and creating effective solutions.
- Soft skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation abilities are crucial for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Should have at least 5 8 years of strong expertise in RICEF objects.
