At vVolve Management Consultants, we are growing our technical delivery team and looking for a seasoned SAP ABAP Consultant to join us onsite in Singapore. You will work across both ECC and S/4HANA landscapes, partnering with functional consultants and client stakeholders to design, develop, and optimise SAP solutions - with a strong focus on Finance (FI/CO) and Logistics(MM/ SD/ PP and other core modules) domains. Core Responsibilities
- Design & Develop: Build robust ABAP programs, enhancements, user exits, BAdIs, and custom reports across ECC and S/4HANA environments, adhering to SAP best practices and coding standards.
- Finance & Logistics Focus: Deliver technical solutions within FI, CO,MM, SD, and PP modules - from complex interfaces and data migrations to workflow automations and performance-tuned reports.
- ECC-to-S/4HANA Bridge: Develop and adapt ABAP objects for S/4HANA compatibility, including CDS Views, OData services, and RAP frameworks where applicable.
- Clean Core delivery: Design upgrade-safe extensions aligned to ABAP Cloud & released APIs. Design upgrade-safe enhancements using released APIs and ABAP Cloud-compliant approaches, minimising core modifications and ensuring smooth upgrades.
- RAP + Fiori elements delivery: Build transactional services and Fiori elements apps using RAP patterns, CDS-based models, and OData where applicable.
- DevOps for ABAP: Contribute to Git-enabled transport/versioning practices (gCTS) and CI-friendly delivery.
- Event-driven integration: Support modern integration patterns withSAP Integration Suite / Event Mesh when required.
- Proactive Solutioning: Engage early in project cycles to conduct technical assessments, identify risks, and propose pragmatic solutions before issues escalate.
- IntegrationDevelopment: Implement and maintain interfaces using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and web services (REST/SOAP) to connect SAP and third-party systems seamlessly.
- Code Quality & Reviews: Champion clean, maintainable code through peer reviews, unit testing, and adherence to ABAP OO principles mentor junior developers where the opportunity arises.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with functional consultants, business analysts, and end-users to translate requirements into precise technical specifications.
- Documentation: Produce clear technical design documents, transport logs, and handover materials that enable smooth operations and knowledge transfer.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development, with demonstrable project delivery across both ECC and S/4HANA landscapes.
- CoreModules: Deep technical expertise in Finance (FI/CO) and Logistics(MM/SD/PP) - understanding the business context behind every line of code.
- ABAP Classic Fundamentals: Strong proficiency in classical ABAP, ABAPOO, ALV reports, Smartforms/ Adobe Forms, Enhancements (User Exits, BAdIs), DataDictionary, and performance optimisation.
- S/4HANA Skills: Working knowledge of RAP, CDS Views, AMDP, OData/Fiori services, and/or SAP RAP - or a genuine drive to Upskill rapidly.
- Integration:Practical experience with IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and web service integrations in a multi-system landscape.
- ProactiveMindset: A self-starter who anticipates upstream/downstream impacts and drives issues to resolution without waiting to be asked.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Client-facing or consulting experience is advantageous.Ability to learn new SAP features quickly.
- Communication:Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders in a consulting environment.
- Based in Singapore or open to relocating role is fully onsite.
Highly Desirable (The vVolve Advantage)
- Nice toHave: Exposure to SAP Fiori/UI5, S/4HANA Finance, SAP BTP, or prior consulting/ SI experience is a definite advantage.
- Exposureto SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk) and/or full-stack ABAP developmentusing SAP Business Application Studio (BAS).
- Familiarity with SAP Build Process Automation for workflow/RPA automations.
- Exposure to CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model) for side-by-side services on SAPBTP.
- Familiarity with SAP Cloud ALM implementation/operations toolchains.
- Openness to AI-assisted productivity tooling (e.g., SAP Joule capabilities where available).
- ABAP Cloud Mastery: Exceptional, demonstrable proficiency in ABAP Cloud restricted syntax, ABAP RAP, advanced CDS Views, and Behaviour Definition/Implementation is highly advantageous. A complete architectural transition away from classical Dynpro, ALV reporting, and Smartforms mindsets is heavily preferred.
- Modern Extensibility Paradigms: A deep, practical understanding of the SAPClean Core A-D Extensibility model will set you apart. We value candidates with a proven track record of executing side-by-side extensions on BTP and utilising public developer extension points (Cloud BAdIs) for strictly governed in-app extensibility.
- AI Development Integration: Hands-on experience executing Agentic AI workflows within the modern ABAP IDE (Eclipse ADT or VS Code) is a major plus.We look for the proven ability to leverage AI copilots (such as SAP Joule andGitHub Copilot) for automated code generation, unit test creation, and large-scale legacy codebase refactoring.
- Integration Ecosystems: Strong architectural capability in shifting enterprise landscapes from legacy point-to-point RFCs/IDocs to modern API-led integrations utilising OData V4, REST protocols, and asynchronous event-driven architectures is highly desired.
- Modern Certifications: Holding the modern, lab-tested SAP Certified Associate -Back-End Developer - ABAP Cloud (C_ABAPD) or the SAP Certified Associate -Integration Developer credential is a massive advantage.
- Migration Tooling: Practical experience with the SAP Custom Code Migration app and advanced utilisation of the ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC) for brownfield ECC to S/4HANA readiness assessments.
