Sap Abap Consultant

The Senior ABAP Consultant will design, develop, test, and support SAP solutions using advanced ABAP programming to meet evolving business needs. This role requires strong technical expertise across SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments, close collaboration with functional and business teams, and the ability to provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior developers.

1. Development & Customization

• Design, develop, and maintain custom programs, reports, forms, and interfaces using ABAP (classical/intermediate reports, ALV, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, Enhancements).
• Create and maintain Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and SAP Scripts.
• Develop optimized ABAP objects in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.

2. Integration & Performance

• Develop and maintain interfaces using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and OData services.
• Support SAP integration with external systems (PI/PO, CPI, API-based integrations).
• Perform performance tuning, debugging, and code optimization for ABAP programs.

3. Technical Design & Documentation

• Translate functional specifications into high-quality, scalable technical designs.
• Adhere to SAP coding standards and perform peer code reviews.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation for all custom developments.

4. Support & Maintenance

• Provide end-to-end technical support for incidents, enhancements, and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across SAP modules (FI, MM, SD, PP, HR, etc.).
• Participate in SAP upgrades, migration, and system testing activities.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor junior ABAP developers and provide technical training as required.
• Collaborate with functional, business, and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Recommend and implement ABAP best practices for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on ABAP development experience in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.

Technical Skills:

• Strong expertise in ABAP/4, ABAP Objects, and ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
• Experience in CDS Views, AMDP, and HANA-based developments.
• Proficient in SAP Data Dictionary, performance tuning, and debugging.
• Experience with workflow, OData, and Fiori/UI5 integration is preferred.
• Knowledge of IDoc, BAPI, RFC, and API-based integrations.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience enhancing or extending SAP Fiori/UI5 applications.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA migration and conversion tools (e.g., Custom Code Migration App).
• Understanding of SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform).
